Marjorie Siu Isosufe

Jorie was the daughter of three Goliaths. She had an older half-brother named Khali. They lived for a time on the outskirts of Ecmoor before the family tried to move closer for work. In 20068 Light, Jorie's younger sister Orenda was born, shortly followed by a younger brother named Esi in 20070 Light.   Her older brother was meant to watch Jorie, Orenda and Esi while their parents were away working, but left Jorie with Orenda in the fall of 20071 Light. He took their younger brother, Esi, with him to trade marbles with a classmate. Later, he frantically returned without Esi, claiming a tall man in a big hat had stolen the baby. Jorie took Orenda to search for their parents and younger brother, but by the time they found their parents it was near sunset.   Unfortunately, the police were never able to locate Esi or the man Khali described.   After the loss of Esi, their father began to stay home to look after the children. Every night, Jorie would help him light a lamp in the window for Esi. He told Jorie that even if Esi had left them young, they had loved him so much that it would warm his heart to see it and he would know this was home. She'd often fall asleep reading her schoolbooks in his lap while he sat near the window, waiting for her two mothers and Esi to come home.   On a cool night in 20075 Light, Jorie's father woke her up and told her to hide in the cupboard with Orenda. Orenda did not wake and Jorie watched through the crack as police arrested Khali, her father, and her two mothers. When they had gone, Jorie saw the shadow of a tall man in a tall hat and closed the cupboard door. She heard him come into the home and to the cupboard. He asked for her, again and again, in a language Jorie did not know. She stayed silent and still, eyes squeezed shut even when she heard his hand lift to the knob. He never opened it and when sunrise came, he was gone.   Later that week, the police would deliver the clothes they wore. After some digging, she found out they had been executed for conspiracy against the Duke of Ecmoor whom one of her mothers had served as a maid. Jorie doubted these claims were true.   She took over all responsibilities of the household, including the childcare of Orenda. Any odd job that paid for food was good enough for her. She allowed many people to stay in their crowded apartment to help pay for rent, but most were only temporary.   Every night, she lit a lantern in the window for her parents, for Khali, and for Esi.

Began attending Ecmoor's School of Magical Arts in 20070 Light at the age of 9. Unfortunately, she was unable to complete her studies after the death of her parents in 20075 Light at age 14. She dropped out of school and never completed a degree for her coursework.

Beginning in the year 20075 Light at the age of 14, Jorie worked any job that would put food on the table. Due to her height and the general unfamiliarity of the locals with Goliaths, most establishments mistook her as much older than she was. She was able to consistently maintain three jobs as a baker, waitress, and cook.

Jorie's greatest regret is never being able to finish school. When her sister began learning from Rene Nadire Lyra in 20083, Jorie put salt in her sister's breakfast for a week out of resentment and envy. When Ren confronted her over the issue, Jorie felt a great deal of shame for her pettiness. She begged Ren not to tell Orenda about the salt and broke down crying. Ren left her to her tears and Jorie let herself wallow before resolving to support Orenda in an endeavor she herself was unable to accomplish.

After the death of her parents, Jorie formed a general distrust towards law enforcement. She would salt their beer at the tavern where she worked.

Logical, good spatial reasoning and an aptitude for magical study. A hard-worker who is focused on her goals.

As for romance, Jorie held only interest in other women. Among her friends, she was known as a bit of a womanizer, but kept things relatively under control and out of sight of her sister. She never brought anyone home or stayed overnight for fear of upsetting Orenda.

Polite and a little quiet. She often hunches her shoulders to appear smaller than she is.

Kept Khali's marble collection over the years. She continued to trade and grow it over the years to keep herself entertained.
