Kendron

Kendron is a kingdom of contrasts, a realm of breathtaking progress built upon a foundation of ancient, often violent, history. Situated in the temperate equatorial band of Novendragos, its landscape is a diverse tapestry of wind-swept grasslands, lush forests, and formidable mountain ranges. Under the benevolent, millennia-long rule of the gold dragon Midasaura, the Gilded, and her mortal vassal, the Stormlord, Kendron has become a beacon of arcane-industrial innovation and ordered society. Its people—a diverse mix of ambitious Humans, industrious dwarves, and empathetic Balpura—live in a world where magi-tech engines are powered by the volatile magic of dragocite, and the will of a dragon is the ultimate law of the land.

  • Majority Faiths: The overwhelming majority of Kendron's populace worships Vro'kahn, The Preserver. His tenets of order, light, and creation are seen as the divine blueprint for the kingdom's own society, and the grand temples of the Order of the Platinum Sun are the spiritual heart of every major city.
  • Minority Faiths: The worship of Indarra, the goddess of life, is prevalent in the fertile agricultural regions of Aurumvale and Gadorak. A subversive and often persecuted Cult of Mandur persists among human-supremacacist elements, particularly within the ranks of the Knights of Man. In the academic halls of the Collegium Quarter, some scholars and mystics quietly venerate Taraslian, the Tro'Kai of Time and Memory.

Imports: Exotic Goods (from Shal Manzir), Raw Minerals (non-drakemetal), Fine Silks and Textiles, Rare Alchemical Reagents.

Exports: Refined Dragocite, Drakemetal, Advanced Magi-Tech Components, Elemental-Firearms, Timber, Agricultural Goods (Grains, Wine).

Platinus: The Gilded City

Town: Population 155,000 (Humans 75%, Dwarves 10%, Balpura 6%, Shiira 4%, Jen'mahadim 2%, Other 3%)

Platinus is the vibrant, humming heart of Kendron, a marvel of arcane engineering and divine geometry situated at the confluence of the Gallor River and the great Lake Windemere. The city is a breathtaking sight, its skyline a forest of gleaming towers and gilded spires arranged in a great spiral around the central Sanctum Core, where the magnificent Aurum Palace stands as a testament to the kingdom's enduring strength. The streets are alive with the sounds of lively discussion, the hum of dragocite-powered engines, and the bustling trade of its many districts, from the academic halls of the Collegium Quarter to the vibrant marketplaces of the Vaerocasian Bazaar. As the center of commerce, innovation, and draconic law, Platinus shines as a beacon of prosperity and ordered harmony.

Platinus Adventures

Game Masters who set their adventure in Platinus can use these plot hooks for inspiration.

  • The Cogwork Conspiracy (low-level). A master machinist from the Artisan's Alcove is found murdered, his workshop ransacked. The Brotherhood of Protectors hires the party for a discreet investigation, as the machinist was working on a secret project for a high-ranking noble. The trail leads them through the city's underbelly, revealing a conspiracy by a rival guild, who stole the schematics for a revolutionary new clockwork automaton. The party must navigate guild politics and fend off hired thugs to recover the plans before the rival guild can weaponize the new technology.
  • The Echo of Tyranny (high-level). A series of coordinated terrorist attacks strikes the city, targeting key dragocite conduits and sowing chaos. The attackers are the Knights of Man, but they are more organized and better equipped than ever before. The Drakemetal Vanguard deputizes the party to hunt down the cell's leader. Their investigation reveals the Knights are being secretly advised and armed by a high-ranking member of the Heliox Assembly, a descendant of Xendros Pyrus who believes it is time to shatter the "gilded cage" of draconic rule and restore a human-centric empire. The party must expose the traitor in the heart of the government before they can trigger a full-blown civil war.

Structure

The Organizational Structure of Kendron

Kendron is governed by a clear, structured hierarchy rooted in the absolute authority of Midasaura, the Gilded Dragon Overlord, whose vision shapes national stability and long-term direction. Beneath her is the Stormlord, Eldred Ironhand, who rules as her mortal representative and oversees the kingdom's daily administration.

Supporting the Stormlord is the Heliox Assembly, composed of ministerial lords managing distinct governance domains, and Elder Scales, experienced advisors providing historical insight and counsel.

The Drakarchate, acting independently under Midasaura’s authority, serves as Kendron’s internal regulatory agency. Its Compliance Architects set stability guidelines, while Loop Agents handle field operations involving magical or temporal threats.

This hierarchy defines Kendron’s governance, clearly delineating authority and responsibility from draconic sovereign to mortal administration.

Culture

The Culture of Kendron: The Harmony of the Machine

Kendroni culture is grounded in an unwavering faith in order, innovation, and civic duty, shaped deeply by the benevolent reign of Midasaura, the gold dragon overlord. Citizens perceive society as an intricately engineered mechanism, driven by their motto, “Preservation Through Progress.” Order, to Kendroni, represents moral virtue; chaos is the root of all suffering and failure. Thus, laws and regulations aren't mere rules—they're revered principles ensuring societal perfection.

Progress, viewed as a sacred obligation, motivates constant technological advancement, though only within established bounds that maintain stability. Central to Kendroni identity is the Accord, a fundamental pact between Midasaura and her mortal subjects, defining their world’s natural order. To challenge this agreement is unimaginable, even heretical.

Kendroni customs reinforce these beliefs through annual celebrations of innovation, mandatory civic service for young adults, and ceremonial attestations of loyalty for those entering positions of authority. History is selectively commemorated through state-approved re-enactments, underscoring a narrative of continual growth and order.

Public Agenda

The Mandate of the Accord

Issued by the Heliox Assembly, authorized by the Stormlord, and upheld by Midasaura, the Gilded Dragon Overlord, Kendron's public agenda revolves around a single principle: Preservation Through Progress. It reaffirms the sacred Accord that binds draconic wisdom to mortal ambition, ensuring a meticulously designed future.

Central to Kendron's mission is maintaining absolute order, seen not as a constraint but as the foundation for advancement. The state commits itself fully to protecting citizens and rigorously enforcing laws against any threats to stability.

Equally vital is continual progress, considered an act of civic reverence. Efficiently harnessing resources such as dragocite and drakemetal, the state empowers guilds and scholarly institutions to innovate within the bounds of harmony. Technological advancement, economic stability, and high standards of living are regarded as proof of a thriving, well-ordered society.

Above all is preserving harmony through unwavering loyalty to Midasaura and adherence to the Accord. Kendron remains unified under draconic guidance, reinforcing a collective identity built on order, progress, and divine balance.

Demography and Population

Ordered Growth

Kendron’s stable rule under Midasaura the Gilded has allowed steady demographic growth and urbanization, supporting approximately 3.5 million inhabitants concentrated largely in fertile central regions. Platinus, the capital, hosts around 155,000 residents, serving as the kingdom's political and commercial hub. The surrounding Couragian Grasslands form Kendron’s populous heartland, while the southern agricultural regions of Gadorak and Aurumvale and the coastal Thalas Enclave sustain substantial farming and trade populations. The mountainous west, particularly Eldoria, is heavily populated by dwarven communities dedicated to mining, whereas northern and remote regions such as Dragosia, Skyreach Highlands, and the Verdant Expanse are sparsely inhabited.

Birth rates in Kendron are stable, benefiting from advanced healthcare that significantly reduces childhood mortality. Life expectancy is high, typically between 70 and 80 years, though deaths frequently result from violent or accidental circumstances due to the inherent dangers of Novendragos.

The majority of Kendron’s population is human (85%), with dwarves (8%) concentrated in mining and artisan communities. The Balpura (4%) primarily inhabit coastal areas, while the nomadic Shiira (2%) form transient urban enclaves. Elder-blooded beings, including the Jen'mahadim, comprise less than 1%, remaining isolated and rarely seen within urban centers.

Military

The Accord's Edge

Kendron’s military is a disciplined and technologically advanced force, designed to uphold the principles of the Draconic Accord through precision, loyalty, and overwhelming strength. More than a defense force, it serves as an extension of the kingdom’s ideology, maintaining both external security and internal order.

At its head, Midasaura the Gilded sets the strategic vision, while the Stormlord, Eldred Ironhand, commands all military operations and appoints senior officers. Under this leadership, Kendron's military is divided into distinct branches, each with a specialized purpose.

The Royal Kendroni Army is the kingdom’s main fighting force, organized into legions of infantry, cavalry, and magi-tech artillery. It defends the borders, patrols the wilderness, and engages in conventional warfare, supported by advanced elemental weaponry and fortified in drakemetal armor.

The Drakemetal Vanguard serves as Kendron’s elite internal security force, enforcing the will of the Heliox Assembly. Specialized in arcane threats, cult suppression, and counterinsurgency, Vanguard operatives are equipped with the most sophisticated magi-tech available.

The Dragon Knights, few in number but unmatched in prestige, act as Midasaura’s personal champions and royal emissaries. Trained at the Ironhand War Academy, they carry out missions of exceptional importance and serve as the kingdom’s living symbols of the Accord.

Kendron’s navy commands both sea and sky, protecting its coasts and trade routes with dragocite-powered vessels and elemental artillery. It enforces blockades, secures maritime interests, and projects Kendroni influence across the Samudric Ocean.

Technological Level

The Artifice of Harmony

In Kendron, magic is not chaotic—it is engineered. The kingdom’s technological supremacy stems from its mastery of arcane systems, refined through strict discipline and domestic innovation. Magic and science are indistinguishable here, woven seamlessly into everyday life and national defense.

For the average citizen, technology provides security and comfort. Cities are powered by dragocite-fed leyline grids, delivering reliable energy to homes, workshops, and infrastructure. Public transport is efficient and silent, from cross-country rail lines to city-bound magi-tech trams. Clockwork devices perform mundane tasks, and widespread access to alchemical medicine ensures health and longevity.

Kendron’s military edge lies in tightly controlled, state-developed technologies. Elemental firearms, powered by attuned dragocite, far exceed foreign weaponry. Drakemetal armor enhances soldiers with strength and integrated arcane functions. Sky-vessels offer fast, armed mobility, and a network of arcane surveillance tools allows the Vanguard and Drakarchate to detect and neutralize magical threats before they manifest.

All innovations are developed within Kendron, primarily through the Lumenarch Collegium and manufactured in the forges of Platinus and Eldoria. Every invention is regulated by the Drakarchate, ensuring that technological advancement never disrupts the kingdom’s carefully maintained order. Progress is permitted—but only on the Accord’s terms.

Religion

Divine Order in Service of the Accord

Religion in Kendron is a public institution woven into the fabric of the state, reinforcing the kingdom’s guiding principle: Preservation Through Progress. Faith supports the Draconic Accord, offering moral legitimacy to Midasaura’s rule. While some diversity of belief is tolerated, any faith that threatens draconic order is treated as sedition.

The dominant religion is the worship of Vro’kahn, the divine Preserver. Administered by the powerful Order of the Platinum Sun, its temples are central to civic life, and its leader, the High Lumen, holds a permanent seat on the Heliox Assembly. The Church’s doctrines uphold Midasaura’s divine mandate, and its clergy serve as judges, scholars, and moral guides.

Minor faiths are permitted within strict boundaries. The Cult of Indarra, goddess of life, thrives in rural regions, emphasizing healing and community rather than political influence. The philosophies of Taraslian, centered on time and memory, function more as intellectual traditions found in monastic orders and within scholarly institutions like the Lumenarch Collegium.

By contrast, the Cult of Mandur, which promotes human supremacy and rejects draconic rule, is actively suppressed. Though Mandur himself is not outlawed, organized worship is treated as subversive, and the Drakemetal Vanguard dismantles any discovered cells. The Azhra cults are utterly forbidden—worshippers of the bound Titans are declared enemies of the realm and face immediate eradication, their punishment culminating in Unmaking by the Drakarchate. In Kendron, faith is permitted only so long as it serves the Accord.

Foreign Relations

Diplomacy of the Gilded Cage

Kendron’s diplomacy mirrors its internal philosophy—engineered, strategic, and driven by the will of Midasaura. It seeks stability, profitable trade, and technological dominance, engaging with other powers through calculated pragmatism rather than open warmth. Beneath a veneer of benevolence lies a vigilant effort to preserve Kendron’s order, quietly resisting any influence deemed disruptive.

Its strongest alliance is with Shal Manzir through the Silver Accord, a relationship marked by mutual defense and trade, yet strained by philosophical differences. Kendron respects Shal Manzir’s resources but views its obsession with atonement as regressive.

Relations with Kratakahn are tense but essential. Despite disdain for Kratakahni culture and governance, Kendron maintains trade and border diplomacy out of necessity, treating their neighbors as unruly but manageable.

Ties with Dikkatsek are purely transactional. Kendron relies on its metals and dragocite, but regards the dwarves’ militant fervor and autocracy with deep suspicion, working to keep their volatile ambitions contained.

With the Chiryu Sovereignty, Kendron engages in a cold, silent rivalry. Formal relations are minimal, overshadowed by espionage and technological competition. Each sees the other as its greatest threat to global preeminence.

Kendron maintains cordial trade with scholarly Tanbhu, enforces embargoes and blockades against hostile Hamurk, and avoids all contact with the jungle nation of Myrrandor, viewing it as dangerously unpredictable and ruled by a draconic threat.

Laws

The Architecture of Order

In Kendron, law is regarded as social engineering, meticulously crafted to achieve a harmonious society under the motto "Preservation Through Progress." Laws originate with the Heliox Assembly, guided by the Dragon Overlord’s foundational Draconic Mandate, and gain official authority through the Stormlord’s edicts. These laws are recorded primarily in the Accord Lexicon, inscribed on drakemetal plates secured in Eldoria's Great Library, with public parchment copies accessible throughout the kingdom.

Law enforcement is carefully structured: the Brotherhood of Protectors handles routine city crimes; the elite Drakemetal Vanguard addresses severe threats like sedition or forbidden magi-tech; and the secretive Drakarchate silently neutralizes systemic dangers outside conventional law.

Punishments in Kendron reflect a pragmatic pursuit of social harmony. Minor crimes typically result in fines, mandatory civic service, or suspended privileges. Serious offenses like murder or sabotage lead to imprisonment, forced labor, or exile. The gravest crimes—such as treason or heresy against the Accord—are punished by "Unmaking," where offenders are erased from collective memory and either secretly executed or confined indefinitely.

The flexibility of Kendron’s law varies significantly. Common citizens face swift, predictable justice, whereas the wealthy leverage influence and legal expertise to navigate loopholes. Criminal organizations evade detection through bribery and stealth, while systemic threats identified by the Drakarchate receive no trials, appeals, or mercy.

Agriculture & Industry

The Forge and the Field

Kendron’s strength lies in the balance between its fertile heartlands and its arcane-industrial might. Agriculture sustains its people, while magi-tech industry drives its expansion, both working in concert to fulfill the kingdom’s vision of Preservation Through Progress.

Its industrial power centers on dragocite and drakemetal extraction from the Fallen Mountains, with dwarven-led mines in Eldoria supplying the raw materials that fuel Kendron’s factories. In Platinus and Hallgrim, these resources are transformed into elemental firearms, dragocite engines, and clockwork automatons—cornerstones of the kingdom’s military and infrastructure. Artisan guilds in Platinus also contribute refined goods, from textiles to intricate jewelry.

Meanwhile, Kendron’s vast agricultural regions ensure food security and trade surplus. The Couragian Grasslands and Gadorak plains produce massive grain yields, while herders raise livestock alongside native beasts like tharnox and plainsrunners. Viticulture flourishes in Aurumvale, fishing and aquaculture dominate the Thalas Enclave, and the forests and highlands provide rare herbs and sustainable timber.

Trade & Transport

Arteries of the Accord

Kendron’s economic lifeblood flows through a meticulously engineered network of roads, rails, sea routes, and sky-lanes, all designed to move goods with speed, security, and state oversight. Trade is not merely permitted—it is managed with precision, serving the twin goals of prosperity and control.

The kingdom’s land-based commerce relies on the Kendroni Railway System, a dragocite-powered marvel that moves bulk goods like ore, timber, and grain from distant provinces to Platinus. Supporting this is the Accord Road network, wide and drakemetal-paved, enabling efficient overland trade and safeguarded by highway patrols from the Drakemetal Vanguard.

In the skies, advanced sky-vessels carry high-value cargo and key personnel, showcasing Kendron’s technological edge. At sea, the merchant fleets of Port Luminar anchor maritime trade along the Silverwind Route, linking Kendron to allies like Shal Manzir. The navy ensures these waters remain secure, maintaining uninterrupted commercial flow.

Trade is tightly regulated by the Heliox Assembly, with state-sanctioned merchant guilds handling both domestic and international exchange. Kendron exports refined dragocite, drakemetal, elemental weaponry, and surplus agriculture, while importing rare materials, luxury goods, and exotic reagents from key partners such as Shal Manzir and Dikkatsek.

Despite these controls, illicit trade persists. The Umbral Serpents exploit the same infrastructure to smuggle forbidden magi-tech and contraband, threatening the order Kendron works tirelessly to maintain. In this system of structured commerce, even the black market operates with brutal efficiency.

Education

Calibrating the Mind

In Kendron, education is a function of the state, engineered to produce a populace that is skilled, efficient, and ideologically aligned with the Draconic Accord. Learning is not a path to personal fulfillment—it is a process of calibration, shaping each citizen to serve the greater machine of society.

Most Kendroni children attend Luminar Schools, where they receive instruction in literacy, arithmetic, and state-approved doctrine. This foundational education is universal, designed to produce obedient workers, soldiers, and artisans loyal to the Accord.

Those of artisan or merchant backgrounds typically continue through guild apprenticeships, gaining practical skills under the guidance of masters. This vocational tier supports the kingdom’s economic engine, producing its skilled tradespeople and merchants.

Higher education is reserved for the elite and a few exceptional commoners. The Lumenarch Collegium, Alchemedica Institute, and Ironhand War Academy train the kingdom’s engineers, scholars, healers, and military officers—those entrusted with shaping and defending the future.

While Kendron boasts high literacy and a well-trained workforce, access to deeper knowledge is tightly restricted. The curriculum is carefully curated to reinforce loyalty, with inconvenient truths and disruptive ideas suppressed by the silent hand of the Drakarchate. In Kendron, practical knowledge is for the many; dangerous wisdom is reserved for the few.

Infrastructure

Bones of the Kingdom

Kendron’s strength is not just military—it is systemic. The kingdom’s vast, precisely engineered infrastructure ensures security, efficiency, and prosperity. Roads, rails, ports, aqueducts, and fortresses all function as integrated components of a larger design, reflecting the belief that a perfected society must also be a well-built one.

A network of drakemetal-paved highways links Kendron’s cities, patrolled and maintained for speed and safety. Dragocite-powered trains move vast quantities of ore, timber, and grain to industrial hubs, while sky-ports in cities like Platinus and Port Luminar support high-level diplomatic and military traffic. These transit systems keep commerce flowing and the state agile.

Urban centers run on dragocite power drawn through leyline conduits, lighting streets and fueling homes. Water flows through ancient aqueducts enhanced with magi-tech filtration, while deep sewer systems ensure public sanitation far beyond the norm. Each city is anchored by a town hall or Court of Accord—centers of governance, justice, and architectural grandeur.

Defensive structures guard the realm with equal precision. Fortresses in the Fallen Mountains secure Kendron’s borders, coastal watchtowers monitor hostile approach, and the colossal walls of Platinus stand warded against both steel and sorcery. Each major region houses a Vanguard Citadel, combining military might, arcane research, and logistical command under one roof. Together, these assets form an unshakable foundation beneath the kingdom’s ambition.

Eldoria is a rugged, defensible region that has withstood numerous invasions throughout its long and storied history.

Currency
Denominations of the Realm

The currency of Kendron is standardized across the Golden Dominion and is based on the inherent value and rarity of the realm's most important resources.

Glimmer Shard (GS)
  • Value: The lowest denomination, equivalent to a copper piece.
  • Description: Glimmer Shards are small, polished, and uniformly faceted fragments of translucent crystal. They are not mined but are a stable, low-grade byproduct of the dragocite refining process. Each shard, roughly the size of a fingernail, emits a faint, constant, pale-white glow, making a purse of them shimmer softly in the dark.
  • Use: This is the coin of the common folk, used for everyday transactions: buying food at the Vaerocasian Bazaar, paying for a drink at a tavern, or tipping a street performer in Gleaming Revelry.
Resonance Mark (RM)
  • Value: Equivalent to a silver piece.
  • Description: Resonance Marks are flattened, circular discs of a dull grey dragocite-drakemetal alloy. They are cool to the touch and emit a very faint, almost imperceptible hum if held close to the ear. Each Mark is impressed with a simple, official elemental sigil (Flame, Tide, Stone, Gale, Void, or Light) to denote its standardized value.
  • Use: Marks are the workhorse of the Kendroni economy, used for purchasing common goods, paying for a room at an inn, or hiring unskilled labor.
Drakemetal Token (DT)
  • Value: The standard of significant trade, equivalent to a gold piece.
  • Description: Drakemetal Tokens are heavy, solid coins forged from refined drakemetal, a rare and resilient alloy prized for its ability to conduct magical energy. They are typically square with rounded corners and are deeply impressed with the intricate emblem of Kendron: the profile of a golden dragon on one side and the sigil of the Heliox Assembly on the other.
  • Use: This is the currency of merchants, guilds, and the state. Tokens are used to pay soldiers' wages, finance trade expeditions, purchase high-quality equipment, and post bonds. Most adventurers will conduct their business primarily in Drakemetal Tokens.
Overlord Plate (OP)
  • Value: The highest form of physical currency, equivalent to a platinum piece.
  • Description: Overlord Plates are not coins but flat, rectangular plates of highly purified, shimmering dragocite crystal, cool and smooth to the touch. Each plate is masterfully impressed with the intricate, personal sigil of the Dragon Overlord, Midasaura the Gilded. The sigil appears to pulse faintly with a soft, golden light.
  • Use: These plates are exceptionally rare and represent the direct backing of the Dragon Overlord's authority and wealth. They are used almost exclusively by noble houses, the highest echelons of government, and the wealthiest guilds for transactions of immense value, such as purchasing land, commissioning a sky-vessel, or securing a major political alliance. To possess even a single Overlord Plate is a sign of significant power and influence.
Methods of Transaction

While physical currency is used for the vast majority of transactions, the advanced magi-tech society of Kendron has developed more sophisticated methods for managing great wealth.

  • Letters of Credit: For massive transactions, the major merchant guilds and the Bank of Platinus can issue Letters of Credit. These are drakemetal-laced documents, inscribed with complex arcane runes and sealed with a magical sigil unique to the issuing institution, which can be exchanged for a specified amount of Drakemetal Tokens.
  • Arcane Ledgers: The highest levels of government and the Drakarchate do not deal in physical currency at all. They utilize secure, magically encrypted Arcane Ledgers to transfer vast sums between institutional vaults, their transactions nothing more than a silent, instantaneous flash of light between two scrying pools.

Major Exports

The Price of Progress

Kendron shapes the world not just through dominance, but through what it sells. Its exports are instruments of influence—refined goods, advanced magi-tech, and surplus harvests that bind other nations to its orbit. Trade is strategic, and every shipment reinforces Kendron’s authority.

At the core of its exports are refined dragocite and drakemetal, processed with unmatched precision in Platinus and Eldoria. These materials fuel the continent’s magi-tech infrastructure, while export-grade elemental firearms and components keep allied militaries reliant on Kendroni designs. Even simple clockwork automatons, while far from the kingdom’s cutting edge, are coveted luxuries abroad.

From its heartland, Kendron exports massive surpluses of grain, fine wines from Aurumvale, and, on occasion, rare livestock breeds like tharnox and plainsrunners. These agricultural exports feed less fertile nations and reinforce trade dependencies.

Beyond material goods, Kendron exports its ideology. The Lumenarch Collegium licenses outdated magi-tech schematics to allies, maintaining control while allowing limited advancement. Skilled experts—engineers, theorists, and advisors—are sent abroad under diplomatic terms, embedding Kendron’s philosophy of progress and order wherever they go.

Major Imports

The Price of Perfection

Though Kendron is largely self-sufficient, its pursuit of refinement and technological advancement drives a steady stream of imports. These goods—whether luxury, strategic, or simply cost-effective—reflect a kingdom that demands excellence and efficiency in all things.

For the elite, imported luxuries signal status and cultured taste. Fine silks and carpets from Shal Manzir, spices from Al Zamarud, rare fruits from Myrrandor, and exotic seafood from Nakashima fill Kendroni estates and banquets. Foreign art and literature—epic poetry, dreamlike sculpture, and intricate carvings—are prized not just for beauty, but as curated glimpses into the chaos beyond Kendron’s order.

On the industrial side, Kendron relies on rare alchemical reagents for research, sourced from Chiryu’s peaks, Myrrandor’s jungles, and Al Zamarud’s deserts. Durable, flame-forged alloys from Dikkatsek support deep-mining and infrastructure. Even with local mounts like plainsrunners, Kendron imports prized horses from Kratakahn and Shal Manzir for noble stables and officer cavalry.

To conserve resources, common goods like salted fish and base ores are often brought in from neighbors. Kendron’s focus remains on producing the extraordinary; for everything else, trade ensures its perfection continues uninterrupted.

Legislative Body

The Heliox Assembly

In Kendron, lawmaking is viewed as the deliberate crafting of a perfected society, guided fundamentally by the will of Midasaura, the Gilded Dragon Overlord. Her philosophy, known as the Draconic Mandate or Accord, functions as the supreme unwritten constitution. All laws must reflect its principles of order and progress.

The Heliox Assembly, Kendron’s primary legislative body, translates these broad draconic principles into detailed laws necessary for governing the kingdom's magi-tech society. Composed of the Stormlord, elder statesmen, and influential faction leaders, the Assembly engages in careful debate and negotiation, balancing factional interests with overarching mandates.

The Stormlord, currently Eldred Ironhand, oversees the Assembly, proposes and approves legislation, and ensures laws align with Kendron’s best interests. Influential factions such as the Merchants' Guild and Alchemedica Institute further shape laws through active lobbying within this structured legislative process. Ultimately, the Dragon Overlord provides the foundational philosophy, the Heliox Assembly formulates the laws, and the Stormlord grants them authority.

Judicial Body

The Scales of the Accord

In Kendron, interpreting law is a precise and sacred duty, entrusted to a structured judicial system designed to uphold order and harmony at every level. The Dragon Overlord, Midasaura the Gilded, stands as the ultimate authority on legal interpretation. Though she rarely intervenes directly, her foundational principles guide all judicial decisions, and she provides final judgments on matters threatening the kingdom's core order.

At the highest mortal level, the Heliox Assembly acts as Kendron’s supreme court, convening for cases involving significant political or constitutional issues. Their decisions set binding precedents for the entire realm.

Serious crimes are judged by the Aurumic Tribunals, presided over by Adjudicators appointed by the Stormlord from among the kingdom’s most respected scholars, clerics, and retired military officers. Common civic disputes and minor crimes are swiftly handled by Magistrates appointed by local leadership, maintaining daily civic order.

Additionally, two groups maintain separate jurisdictions: the Drakemetal Vanguard administers internal discipline through its own courts-martial, while the secretive Drakarchate independently identifies and eliminates systemic threats without formal trials.

Executive Body

The Will of the Accord

In Kendron, law enforcement is carefully divided among specialized bodies to maintain precise control over all aspects of society. At its head stands the Stormlord, Eldred Ironhand, the vassal-king entrusted with overseeing the application of all laws and commanding the kingdom's enforcement agencies.

The Drakemetal Vanguard serves as the elite enforcement arm, handling national security, threats of sedition, rogue magi-tech, and other critical dangers to the realm’s stability. On a local scale, the Brotherhood of Protectors maintains order within cities, managing everyday crimes and disputes to ensure societal harmony.

Operating secretly under the sole authority of the Dragon Overlord, Midasaura, is the Drakarchate. This clandestine body deals swiftly and silently with systemic threats—dangerous technologies, forbidden knowledge, and disruptive individuals—that standard legal mechanisms cannot adequately address. Together, these executive bodies ensure that Kendron’s laws and draconic principles are upheld with unwavering efficiency.
