The Shrouded City

A sprawling complex at the centre of Nova Gloriana, The Shrouded City is home to all the inner workings of the state.    The Capital Although Nova Gloriana is a city-state, the Shrouded City functions as her capital. It is home to the palaces that house the parliament and councils of the Dread Queen, the head temples of Gloriana from which the Holy Orders conduct their ceremonial, doctrinal & liturgical work and the High Families' main living quarters.   Who May Enter Citizens are forbidden to enter the Shrouded City without special dispensation. Dispensation to enter is granted by the government, agreed by the High Families and administered by the Guard.    The Temples and their Schools The Citadel has within itself, three of the highest temples to Gloriana. Connected to each temple is a facility for education and religious instruction given only to the children of the Citadel's inhabitants and the lucky few who have earned scholarship positions or, otherwise, been sponsored by a resident family. Although each temple school carries with it, a prestigious reputation, the most coveted by far is the school overseen by the Sisterhood of the Hidden Mother. Only the most exemplary students are chosen to attend The Hidden Mother Temple Academy.
