The TSS Confidence Incident refers to the catastrophic event that occurred on July 17, 5 AE. A fatal accident forced the vessel TSS Confidence off its intended course, resulting in an emergency landing on the planet later designated as Nova Gaia.
On that day, the colonists aboard the TSS Confidence lost all communication with the other ark ships of the United Terran Accord (UTA) and have since remained isolated from any other surviving human populations.
To this day, it remains unresolved whether the incident was caused solely by a technical malfunction or whether the ship may have been attacked by an extraterrestrial life form.
