Tharrite is an abundant deep gemstone that comes in a few different colors. Most commonly it comes in a deep orange, vibrant red, and a sky blue. Tharrite Jewelry is crafted with a metallic binder of some form, usually this is Steel, Iron, or Bronze, depending on the creator's choice. Those who work alongside people from the
Fae Lands are known to pick Iron as a possible protection if needed. Despite the commonalities mentioned here, both the color of Tharrite and metallic base used for the Jewelry are as varied as the people of the
Ossaman Tribes.
Tharrite Jewelry takes the form of many different types of jewelry, there are as many different fashions as there are pieces of Jewelry. Most commonly it is fashioned into a ring, necklace, or earrings, but there are many people who have crafted unique forms of Jewelry. Most
Drakksherhan use the Tharrite Jewelry as their conduit to the tribe patron and as result make the piece represent their connection in some form. Some have made draconic ear cuffs, while others have made a curling ring of their patrons metal.
While not an original part of the
Ovra Naer Ceremony, the creation of Tharrite Jewelry was added as part of the event sometime in the 630s AR. The
Drakksherhan of the time decreed that it represented the jewelry already worn by many members of the tribe, the use of natural resources also linked the Ossaman Tribes and their connection to the natural world. Upon the decree, many people flocked to create a piece of Tharrite Jewelry to fit their personality and proudly present a representation of their heritage as protectors of nature.
I really like that it has become part of the ceremony and important in that way. I bet people have fun with it.
