Drakksherhan (drɑːkˈʃərɑːn)

The wisdom of the ages is encased within the journey and guidance of a Drakksherhan. They are trained from a fairly young age to develop their understanding of the world and ensure that they can be a source of wisdom and consul for their tribe.
— Writings of Diamond Dryvin Bronzehammer

Drakksherhan is the title given to a healer and spiritual leader among the Ossaman Tribes. Many of the Drakksherhan act as the leaders of the different sects of the Tribes, but there are many who have retired from this active service and now are just friendly faces around the region and beyond.

Description

Each Drakksherhan has at one point been considered a candidate for leading one of the Ossaman Tribes around Nonvyrox. Each possible candidate is tested while they remain within the ancient sites in Ossalimar. Once successful, they are sent to gain the wisdom that they are required to possess by undertaking their ritualistic Dragonflight. Once they have completed this process, they are contacted by one of the Guardian Dragons that founded the Ossaman Tribes, selecting which faction of the Ossaman Tribes they will lead and which draconic deity they will be their patron.   However, this is not the full story, as there can be multiple living Drakksherhan which are under the patronage of a Founding Dragon. In this case, the Drakksherhan usually abdicate their position to a newer Drakksherhan. The new leader is then given counsul and guidance from all living Drakksherhan of their tribe. This allows for a communal sharing of knowledge by all those who still remain living.   Each of the tribes have different ceremonial clothing and accessories that are required by the Drakksherhan that acts as their leader. However, many Drakksherhan possess some totem or recognizable symbol that attributes them to the tribe they come from. Some wear this as a pendant or attach it to their chosen weapon or armor as a memento of their position.

Occassionally, he is invited to meetings of the Ossaman Tribes to be an advisor and non-voting party in the decisions of the Tribe overall.
Tyurn Fireblood He/Him Lycankind Drakksherhan of the Aethelna Tribe. Considered by most to be the leader and most respected among the Drakksherhan, Tyurn completed his Dragonflight about 25 years ago, taking the Silver Seat of the Ossaman Tribes. He is known to have been a powerful adventurer during his Dragonflight, however since then he has become known for being a powerful and careful diplomat across the world.
Korla Amaqra She/Her Pantera Drakksherhan of the Oravani Tribe. Korla is considered young by the standards of many of the Drakksherhan, able to complete her Dragonflight at a young age. She now protects the contingent of Ossaman in the Dumal Jungles and holds the Brass Seat of the Ossaman Tribes. She is known for her tactics and martial prowess, possessing an innate knowledge of her physical form.
Irna Parvyuhna She/Her Avaris Drakksherhan of the Kaelenor Tribe. Irna is the longest serving of the Drakksherhan and as a result, her wisdom and knowledge is well respected among even the other Drakksherhan. Thanks to her service, she was granted a set of copper wings to replace hers when they became frail, this helps her in the peaks of Vilura. She also retains the Copper Seat of the Ossaman Tribes and the title Prefonix, for the longest served member among the Tribes.
Antares Firebrim He/Him Dragontouched Drakksherhan of the Pyralis Tribe. Originally a human in the Tribes, Antares showed promise from a younger age and an affinity for both weapons and divine magic. As a result, he was sent on a Dragonflight which ended when he found the armor of the lost Drakksherhan of the Pyralis Tribe. Antares holds the Gold Seat of the Ossaman Tribes and often is considered its most tempered member, but with a burning rage inside that can be released if needed.
Whu-Don Koaraki They/Them Water Elementra Drakksherhan of the Pelagyr Tribe. The first Elementra to successfully complete a Dragonflight. Unlike many of the Tribes, the Pelagyr Tribe is trying to broker communications between themselves and the inhabitants of the Aquatic Plane, to see if there is a way to mitigate hostilities. Whu-Don is one of the main diplomats and guardians in this mission. They hold the Bronze Seat of the Ossaman Tribe and use their position to communicate with people from both underwater and on the surface.
Temera Tomberis She/Her Gnome Former Drakksherhan of the Oravani Tribe. Once Korla Amaqra took over as the primary Drakksherhan, Temera retired in her elderly age to go further into the dense area of the Dumal Jungles where she has built her own small home looking after a grove of her own. Several people on their Dragonflight have found themselves under her tutelage, especially in moments of hardship in the course of their journey. Occassionally, she is asked to advise the Ossaman Tribes due to her innate connection with the natural world and her long-lived wisdom.

I really like that the old step aside for the young, so the benefits of knowledge can continue to be passed down.
