Deities of Nonvyrox

There are a significant number of different deities who help guide and influence the world of Nonvyrox. This article is designed to help give a small introduction to each of the major pantheons and their status within the realm. Think of it as your one stop shop to find out more about each of the different pantheons within the world of Nonvyrox.   All of the information given in this article is only a snippet of the content based on each of the different pantheons. This article won't cover the individual histories of the different powerful deities that make up each of the pantheons as they each have their own article that explores their domains, worship, histories, and relationships further. It should however, give you an overview of the dynamics between the gods of each pantheon in a wider context.

The Shattered Pantheon

Considered by many to be the core pantheon of the realm, The Shattered Pantheon were once a harmonious set of deities originating from the power of The Weaver pulling on the Leylines of the world before The Dawning.   After several major rifts started to appear between the members of The Shattered Pantheon, there was a division between two sides of the pantheon causing a major split between them. This eventually led to the divine war that became known as The Shatter.   After the events of The Shatter, the Shattered Pantheon were forced behind a powerful ritual known as the Tynau. This trapped their physical forms within the realm of the Divine Domains, trapping them away from the mortals. Only one among them, Shathol, acted as a guardian and defender of the door home. By 755 AR, this duty has been passed on to a chosen champion of Shathol and all members of the Shattered Pantheon are trapped behind the Tynau.

The primary pantheon of Nonvyrox divided centuries ago and embroiled in constant conflict

Dual Idols

With origins much older than existence, the Dual Idols are the physical manifestations of competing concepts. Each of the deities are considered much older and wiser than many of the different deities across the realm. However, despite this, they have different names over the years as they can still be killed. While they remain at the same age forever, their form can still be destroyed by outside forces.   Once a member of the Dual Idols passes, they are reborn into a mortal form that allows them to experience the world before taking on their divine position. Upon taking on this position, the Dual Idol regains their memories of their existence before their death and continue the path forwards of their existence.   Regardless of the religious limitations and restrictions of the world, most countries seem to accept the Dual Idols in their religion, whether as a partial or full induction into the allowed pantheon.

A pantheon of ancient forces that are the embodiment of opposing concepts. They are present and powerful figures revered across the realms.

Guardian Dragons

Forged from the power of several among The Shattered Pantheon. The Guardian Dragons were first concieved as protectors of the mortal people during The Dawning. Although their forms were unnatural and huge for this world, their innate connection to Mandra meant that all dragons were and became innately natural, core and integral to the world and all it is.   The Guardian Dragons were the first fifteen to be created, five metallic to represent the abundant metals in the earth, five chromatic to paint the colors of the sky, and five made of gemstones to bring riches and wonders to each mortal. Each of the Guardian Dragons took on their own personalities, but over the course of influence from the different members of The Shattered Pantheon and the dark corruption at the heart of Klardis, the five chromatic dragons splintered off and were more closely aligned with the goals of The Deceiver Gods. During The Shatter, the chromatic and metallic dragons were on opposing sides, while the gemstone dragons just aimed to help people.

Lesser Totems

While the power of The Shattered Pantheon, Dual Idols, and Guardian Dragons help cover the domains of much of the world. There are times when creatures and powers help fill the void of more niche aspects of the world. There are also times when creations and champions of the different gods have risen to become known for their immense power and strength. Sometimes, it is as simple as a creature of force being believed in so significantly, that their very essence becomes infused with the art of the divine.   In any case, all these are what is known as a Lesser Totem. A power that has the potentiality of a divine being or force, but is limited to one or two niche domains that cover their portfolio. There are many types of creatures that can act as Lesser Totems, with drastically different origins and situations. This section will cover the four main types of Lesser Totems, but know that any creature or being that has enough belief in them, has the ability to ascend to the power of a Lesser Totem.

Divine Creations

For years before and during The Shatter, the idea of the deities of The Shattered Pantheon creating new and powerful beings was common. However, by The Parting, many of these creatures had been disabled, destroyed, or lost to time. The Divine Creations are either the slumbering or missing creatures that still have a strong connection to the powers of the realm in the modern day. They range from powerful constructs to large monsters that are hiding or waiting out there for their devotees to release them, but would that help or destroy everything that exists.

Leyline Spirits

Before The Shattered Pantheon, there were the Leylines. Powerful magical energies that lay hidden across the surface of the world, that were powerful enough to create the first of the Shattered Pantheon and empowering even the primordial titans. Over the years, some natural concepts of the world have found themselves linked with these leylines, small spirits that have a fragment of divine power but also mastery over the concepts of the world. These Leyline Spirits are powerful, but limited entities that can take all shapes and forms, but are sometimes malevolent and sometimes benign.

Fae Guides

Within the Fae Lands, there are a significant number of powerful beings known as Archfae. These powerful creatures have control over a domain within the Fae Lands that acts as their home and a minor divine domain. Within these regions, these beings are near all powerful with control over the domain's appearance and laws. Many of these Archfae have interacted with some collection of mortals, leading several of them to make deals where the Archfae acts as their guide and patron. If an Archfae is powerful enough then they obtain a sliver of divinity as long as they also have enough followers to sustain this new form.

Believed Beings

There are several different types of creatures that don't fit within the confines of these other creatures, instead they just have a powerful enough belief in them that they are imbued with a fragment of divine power. There are some mortals who have become demigods or divine champions with enough of a following of their own that they belong in this category even though they don't have enough divine ability to change reality. There are also ancient creatures and pantheons under this category, though only if they are still worshipped by enough people in the modern day, this can include several titans, minor deities and beings from beyond even this realm of existence.

Really nice overview of the different deity like groups in your world. I like the dual idols a lot, especially living a whole new life before regaining their memories.   Just so you know, believed beings and leyline spirits have their article boxes swapped
