The Age of The Dark Lord
Structure
Exposition
The power of Barbatos godhood had grown over his head before he eventually broke away and gave himself the title of the Dark Lord and now ushered in the age of the same name which continued for 166 years.
Conflict
Barbatos was able to get a powerful grip on the mystical energies of Nomardia and manipulate them to his way. Slowly, anyone who used them was corrupted by his essence and fall under his command. This led to a division among the peoples, and his subjects began destroying the places where other gods were most worshipped and eliminating their followers. This imbalance irritated the other gods, giving Barbatos the opportunity to strike.
Rising Action
With the Gods distracted and the whole magic under his will, Barbatos was able to seize the Palace of Creation in the Realm of Gods and banish all the Gods from the realm. The loss of their main palaces due to their banishment from the Realm of the Gods weakened every god, except Azrael, the God of Death, who held his power in the Underworld and allowed the other gods to retreat to his realm away from Barbatos.
For the next 166 years, all magical power emanated directly from Barbatos or his chosen high priests. Kings, princes, or magicians were merely stewards of his will. People lived under constant surveillance by divine eye-creatures, shadow beings, or "Blessed Ones". The closer someone was allowed to serve Barbatos, the more “pure” or “enlightened” they were considered, which was often bought through cruel trials or sacrifices. Temples were more fortresses than sacred places. Sacrifices in the form of animals, souls, or entire cities were commonplace. Only his priests were allowed to speak Barbato's name. Everyone else called him "The Black Father," "The Silent Lord," or "The Heart of the Night." Enslaved mortals served as tools or soldiers. Some of the ancient nature beings were infected by his darkness and served him as guardians or judges.
Climax
For over a century, the gods plotted their comeback in the underworld until they finally struck back in the year 306. First, Lucifer, the God of Fire, and his angels forged the Mirror of Dawn from heavenly fire and angels' tears, which was to bind Barbato's name in order to take it from him. Then Azrael and Herobrine, the God of Thunder, forged a bunch of chains from blessed wolf iron, which should bind and hold Barbatos when Azrael drags him in chains to the underworld and imprisons him in Tartarus for eternity. And at last, Ongaku, the God of Farming and Neru, the God of Love taught an ancient lullaby to a young demigod, whos name is unknown today, in order to distract Barbatos and give the Gods a chance to put him in chains, which would activate their enchantment.
Falling Action
Once the right time came the Gods took action. The demigod sang the old lullaby that calmed Barbatos, and meanwhile the gods put the chains on him. Lucifer made Barbatos look into the mirror, which took away his name and sealed it in the glass, while Barbatos was reduced to the physical form of a giant bat as consequence. Meanwhile, Koral, Faith, and Klee bound him in chains, and when the demigod finished singing the lullaby, this activated the magic of the chains and robbed Barbatos of all remaining power over the magic of Nomardia before he was dragged into the depths of Tartarus by Azrael.
Resolution
Until this day, the Dark Lord was trapped in Tartarus until he recently escaped through unknown means. He can partially regain power if his real name is mentioned, which only a few people still know.
