Gobber the Belch

Gobber is a large, muscular, and bald Viking with a long, braided blond mustache and a unibrow.

Teaching: Gobber used to teach the teens of Berk how to fight dragons, and also taught Hiccup everything he knew about forging. He also taught them to defend themselves and stressed from the beginning how the best weapon in combat will always be a shield.   Intelligence: Gobber's practical knowledge is quite good, as he figured out the gender of a yak without even looking closely at it, and knew why the farm animals were behaving strangely.     Strength: Gobber is shown to be very strong. After all, he used to forge heavy weapons and fight Dragons. He had shown that he can throw a kitchen knife at a tree to split in half.    Healer: Gobber also had experience as a healer such as when he removed Scauldron poison. He was also able to treat things such as taking a trap off afoot, and created a potion that gave hair back, though the potion also upset the stomach.    Senses: Gobber has a strong sense of smell. For example, he knew exactly how long ago the Teens had been in one spot by smelling the sand where their footprints were found.    Peg Leg: Gobber has a hidden blade stored inside his peg leg and uses it to cut ropes. According to Gobber, Hiccup made it for him on his last birthday. Similar to Hiccup’s prosthetic leg, Gobber can take attacks which would be painful if his leg were real, such as when a Hobgobbler starts chewing on it.    Prosthetic Hand: Gobber has been seen to remove and replace his prosthetic hand with tools, such as a hook, axe, mace, brush, among others. He has so many, he has a storage device in his forge to mount them all.    Forging: Gobber is the blacksmith of the Hairy Hooligan Tribe, providing the town with weapons in order to fight the dragons. He later uses his blacksmithing abilities to make dragon saddles and mend injured dragons.    Dragon Riding and Training: The first time Gobber rode a dragon was when he and the Teens met his old arch-nemesis, the Boneknapper. The same dragon ended up giving them a ride back home. He has a Hotburple named Grump. He also rode a baby Scuttleclaw despite them not listening to anyone.    Dragon Dentist and Doctor: Ever since Hiccup made peace with the dragons, Gobber’s job as weapon forger was no longer needed. However, he is now the current dragon doctor and dentist of the tribe. As a dragon doctor, he can surprise others such as Fishlegs by using a feather on a dragon underbelly like a Gronckle so it would puke, relieving it from overeating.    Musician: Gobber is shown to be able to play the panpipes well. He remarks that he used to be in a band and played the panpipes in it. He is also seen singing folk-type songs, such as the I'm a Viking Song, and For the Dancing and the Dreaming.    Carpentry: In addition to blacksmithing and leather crafting, Gobber is also a proficient carpenter. Specifically, he is able to craft figurines by whittling and other skills. He is seen whittling a duck. He also has a side hobby crafting Dragon Racing figurines after Dragon Racing became popular.    Fighting Skills: Gobber is a veteran combatant against both dragons and Vikings, which is shown when he overpowered multiple Outcasts, Berserkers, and Dragon Hunters. He was able to fight off young Whispering Deaths with his prosthetic hammer and a shield. Gobber was more than capable in fighting Ryker Grimborn one-on-one, though he stated Ryker had better moves. He was also able to hold his ground against Ragnar the Rock for some time before being temporarily knocked down.    Speed and Agility: Though Gobber is peg-legged, he can move fast even though he is a heavy Viking. Despite his lost limbs and body size, Gobber has demonstrated superior jumping skills and dexterity. And example is leaping away from pursuing foes where he springs from rocks and attains long distance and altitude.

He wears a tunic made of tan fur and cloth and a helmet with yak horns. Gobber also wears a prosthetic left arm and right leg after both of said limbs were devoured by Monstrous Nightmares during his youth. He also sports a 'prosthetic' tooth - a well-shaped stone.
