Ruha

Appointment

The Ruha is chosen through a vote of the country's Maharishis (Sages), with each Maharishi representing one god of the Vedic Pantheon. Maharishis cannot announce their own candidacy, they must be nominated by two other Maharishis

Benefits

The Ruha is able to live in the Monarch's court, and even has their own quarters within the Royal Palace.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

The Ruha can only be removed through death.

History

The title of Ruha came as a result of the Gujrana family associating with the cult of Varathra. As time went on, the head priest of the cult became heavily associated with the family and, as time went on, the cults of different gods began to meld together. Today, the Ruha is seen as the voice of the gods and a link between them and the people. Additionally, they are also seen as avatars of Varathra, who, while living in the heavens, chose to simultaneously come down to Earth and aid the people.
