What Went Down

The team has enough clues to know that Brandon Lewis stays holed up in the Tyger Claws apartment complex; he rarely leaves the building. The Kanzaki yakuza know he exists, but they are unaware of his role within the gang. The apartment has too many Tyger Claws members present for a direct assault to be effective.

At The Last Drop, Renji Takagawa waves the team over to his booth. He offers access to the Tyger Claws apartment complex along with forged identities and disguises if the team assassinates Kaito Tanaka. Tanaka runs the gambling and lotteries in Watson on behalf of the Tyger Claws.

Tanaka doesn't stay at the apartment; he lives in his unit above the bingo hall on the corner of Golden Road and Sir Francis Drake Avenue. A taller apartment building on Bradbury Street provides a perfect vantage point for a sniper.

Athlon hacked the apartment system to "rent" a unit on the top floor that faces the bingo hall. Io scoped out the bingo hall. Nothing untoward here, Ethyl, Myrtle, and Sue are running a typical evening with about 150 patrons playing the games. In the back corner of the hall is a doorway with four Tyger Claws members beside it, leading to the private apartments above.

Renji and Kaito are discussing something on his apartment balcony, through the sniper scope, Cipher can read Kaito's lips. "You Kanzaki think you can still play old games. I’m not a piece on your board, Renji."

And with that, 7.62 millimetres of copper-jacketed lead sprays Kaito's brain matter across the balcony glass. As promised, uniforms and authorization passes are provided to the team in the morning.

Notable Events

Io begins the process of upgrading her Thorton Galena hatchback. Her Steel Vacqueros nomad family will make the upgrades, but it will take about a week to complete the work.

Cipher's sniper shot math:

• Base DV: 16 for the 120 meters distance
• +1 to roll for the smartgun link
• +1 to roll for the sniper scope
• +1 to roll from the Solo Combat Awareness
• +2 to roll from LUCK
• -8 to roll for the aimed shot to the head

The -8 penalty is almost offset. Andrew rolls his Shoulder Arms skill and makes the DV. He then rolls 24 points of damage (5D6 for sniper rifles), which gets doubled (after armour reduction) for headshots. Kaito has no head armour, so he is blown into next week.
