Meridis

The deity in charge of any and all magical forces in the world, from the magical energy of kana, to the effects it has on the world, to the spells created and used in the world. Kana and magic is deeply ingrained within life, the world, and the fabric of existence. As a result some people consider Meridis to be the 'leader' of all of the other deities, as he seemingly supervises the other deities. His power also extends to making sure mortals do no go too far with their magic, so that they do not 'break' the world or the universe. He takes the appearance of an older male human with long, wavy dark brown hair, a thick beard, and blue tinted glasses. He is usually thought to wear a dark indigo robe with flowing sleeves and intricate patterns along the skirt and sleeves. He also wears a white hooded cape and a thick faded white muffler around his neck. He is often portrayed holding a simple, carved wooden staff- creating an associated for staves with magic users. Meridis is considered to be a very fatherly deity and has proven to deeply care about the world, his duties, and his fellow deities. He is also considered to be the most wise deity, and many will pray to him for wisdom relating to magic and history. Many associate his name with importance and power, and may use his name in exclamation or in a battlemage's war cry.
