Voice of Innos
A story belonging to the Mountainhead church emphasising the importance of kindness by using an example. Said to have been invented by a wise man from over 8,000 years ago.
Summary
The story takes place in a small village. In this village there is a terrible drought, no crops are growing, people are starving and thirsty and attempts to find a river have so far been fruitless. One day a stranger comes into town, a woman wearing clerical robes and on a white horse. She freely gave away the water that she had with her to save some of the villagers. When asked why, she responded merely that they needed it more. When the drought ended and the rain fell again the traveler packed up and left, before disappearing into the wind. Without her help the village would've died, and they remembered the traveler for as long as they lived, and passed the tale to their children.
Historical Basis
A village with a drought that was saved by an outsider is not exactly an unlikely story and there were unrelated reports of a woman traveler who tended to help.
Variations & Mutation
A lot of stories, mostly kid's moral teaching books, remove the aspect of the traveler being of the clergy so that the message can be heard and felt by anyone.
