Hearth and Home Church

Primarily attended to by Halflings, the Hearth and Home church worship Hearth, the god of house and warmth. A fairly recent religion only arising over the past thousand years.

Structure

Everybody's worship of Hearth is entirely individual and depending on the person.
There are no services, no priests at churches, just a text explaining why Hearth was born, and what they ask of people.

Culture

Almost an embodiement of the Halfling's cheery nature, they are focused on being kind to others and creating a stable and good home environment.

Mythology & Lore

It is said that Hearth burst forth from the bowels of the earth when the people forgot to be kind. They raised a great hall of earth and wood, greater than the dwarves mountains, and invited anyone in. This is explained in the story of The Great Hall

Divine Origins

This was a collective effort by several halfling priests, annoyed at the way people were losing faith thousands of years after the Doom. So they created a god to encourage their ideas.
Some philosophers say that belief is what fuels gods, so it is possible these clerics birthed a new deity.

Cosmological Views

The world merely existed, no grand creation myth.
Hearth works more as a moral compass than a deity of creation. They seek kindness among people, and worshipping them is said to keep your heart strong and brave when dealing with people who challenge your kindness.

Tenets of Faith

1. Always be kind, even to those whom you do not like.
2. Forgive those you can, but do not prevent justice from being carried out.
3. Always be a gracious host and treat your guests with respect.

Worship

Prayer is common, and many ask Hearth for their guidance, but most commonly just keeping the spirit of kindness will do.

Granted Divine Powers

Very rarely, a faithful of Hearth is granted clerical powers.
Their kind and compassionate nature makes them not ideal for patrons of paladins.

Political Influence & Intrigue

Almost none.

Keep the hearth warm and your hearts warmer
