Halls of Arcanum
A huge library in the central ring of New Avalon, holding the majority of knowledge about alchemy and magic, including knowledge of other planes of reality.
Purpose / Function
To be a record of magic, partly out of fear for losing it entirely. There are multiple diagrams of dragons within the building.
Also used as a shorthand for wizarding schools, the government really not having the funding for the teachers needed for that.

Alterations
Over time, many folating towers with floating slab stairs have been made to store all the copies of the books. This is also where many kenku are employed and are given food and shelter.
Architecture
Swooping floating towers above a rudimentary stone box with a triangular roof. The majority of the lighting is either done with gaudy decorative lights such as chandeliers, or dancing light torches.
History
After a great fire that threatened the inner ring and destroyed a large amount of crops, the towers filled with backups were constructed, at no small cost. Ever since then, they have had to ask for a lot of donations to pay back their debts.
In the first 3 years they realised their copying speed and the ambition of the library, and upon one of the founders coming across an impoverished kenku and getting an idea, have been the primary employers of kenku ever since.

Tourism
People who are interested in magic find themselves travelling here, and swiftly overwhelmed by the masses of knowledge.
More skilled wizards are sometimes insulted by the lack of spell scrolls for them to transcribe.
There has been a total of 300 arrests at the library, 90% for loitering wizards attempting to transcribe spells, the others being arsonists.
