The humans who make up the majority of citizens in New Atlantis come from four historical backgrounds. Native Atlantean, as well as Aegean, Egyptian, and Mayan; the three major people groups that Atlantis traded with and allowed immigrants from.
Basic Information
Genetics and Reproduction
Human genetics in New Atlantis differs from that on Earth in a major way. Children of human parents will exhibit the ancestral traits of those parents; but in the event that the parents are of different human ethnicity then the child will randomly exhibit the primary traits of only one parent, chosen relatively randomly. The other parent will still be able to see some of themselves in the child; but the child will be completely one ethnicity, genetically, not a mix of both. This is a holdover from an ancient time when new human souls could not be made, and souls were recycled through reincarnation. The Gods decided to preserve the memory of the original four cultures of humans in this way.

Naming Traditions
Humans name their children according to their ancestral cultural naming conventions. In the event of a mixed couple, the child receives a name correlated to the ethnicity they exhibit.
Gender Ideals
New Atlantis largely believes in gender equality, however that can differ slightly between ethnic groups and kingdoms.

Humanity, and New Atlantis as a whole, are in the midst of a magi-industrial revolution on the back of Orichalc/Orichalcum -powered Magi-tech.

Atlanteans have a tendency to be taller than the other groups of humans. Traditionally, they lived at higher altitudes and in slightly colder climates than their brethren, meaning their average fitness is high while their average strength is lower.
Aegeans are descended from prisoners of war taken during the battles between Atlantis and Aegea. They are more muscular than Atlanteans while being about the same height.
Humans who claim Egyptian descent come from immigrants from the Old Kingdom; the first of these immigrants left Egypt before the pyramids were begun. They tend to be slighter of build than other humans.
Mayans are the shortest subgroup of humanity in Atlantis and tend to have stockier builds than others making them generally stronger than their peers.
