Emberspark

Kaladin Battlehammer's trusted warhammer, is a masterwork of dwarven craftsmanship and spiritual significance. Originally crafted by Thrain Goldbeard, a renowned forge-priest, the weapon was bestowed upon Kaladin when he took his vows of priesthood in 1490 DR during the solemn Day of Watchfulness ceremony. The warhammer features a substantial head of dwarven-forged steel, meticulously balanced and bearing intricate engravings of dwarven runes dedicated to protection and vigilance—sacred concepts in the worship of Gorm Gulthyn. These runes seem to shimmer faintly in low light, a subtle reminder of the divine connection between weapon and wielder.

The handle is wrapped in well-worn leather, darkened and polished by years of use and careful maintenance. This practical grip bears the imprints of Kaladin's hands, a testament to countless hours of training, patrol, and battle. Small bronze inlays punctuate the leather wrapping at key points, echoing the bronze clasps in Kaladin's beard and the bronze of his sacred shield. Where the handle meets the hammerhead, a small emblem of Gorm Gulthyn's flame mask has been inlaid in bronze, carefully positioned so that it rests against Kaladin's thumb when he grips the weapon. This serves both as a tactical reminder of proper grip and as a constant connection to his deity. Though showing signs of use in combat against the various threats Kaladin has faced—from drow in the Underdark to criminal elements in Neverwinter—Emberspark is immaculately maintained, reflecting its wielder's methodical and dutiful nature. Each nick and scratch has been carefully smoothed. In moments of divine casting, observant individuals have noted that the hammer's head sometimes appears to glow with a subtle inner fire, reminiscent of the eternal flames that burn in the temples of Gorm Gulthyn—a manifestation of divine favor that gives the weapon its name.
