5 - Experiences

Experiences are a way to represent the knowledge your character has gained throughout their life. Everyone comes from somewhere and while your character might be fictional, their background can be just as grounded and realistic as your own. In this game, your background shapes the type of skill sets your character begins with.

How It's Made

Every character typically begins with two Experiences to reflect their past. These are written in the “Experiences” section of your character sheet, and can take the form of anything you want. From phrases like “catch me if you can” and “many hands make less work” to titles like “plant expert” and “farm hand”.  These aren't meant to be more than a couple of words, and function as simple tags.

Using Your Experience

When you make an Action Roll (See Rolling and Dice), you can ask your Game Master if your Experience could be applied to the roll. Depending on what you've written down, your Game Master might accept, deny, or even make an alternative to your request. Regardless, if you're able to apply your experience to the roll you can add the number written on your sheet to the result. (By default, it's usually +2)

Progression

Your experiences can be honed, just like your personal skills in the real world. Through practice and training while role-playing, your GM may reward you with more experiences to make use of, or improve the bonus you receive.
