The Mage of the Hour

A mysterious master of the arcane arts, Morvath is perhaps the most prolific mage in Almavira. Born in the Satonni family of Dark Elves, not a family necessarily known for its magical pedigree, Morvath appears to have been born in Marsena like most of his family, though accounts of his earliest days differ and remain elusive. He seems to have spotty contact with his family at best. Nonetheless, he ended up spending time in the arcane universities of Sol, including The Arcane Institute in Kyntyr, before settling in the Heartland of the continent, namely Almavira. There, he would occasionally take on students or come into possession of exceptionally rare, bizarre, or powerful artifacts, trinkets, and manuscripts. In particular, he appears to take a keen interest in schools of magic outside of the arcane orthodoxy that prevails among The Pegasus Assembly. His recent activities remain hazy, though he has a knack for being present for notable events throughout the continent in such a way that often befuddles onlookers who know him. Despite his notoriety, he is said to be quite jovial, almost unusually jolly.

The Funhouse Dungeoneer

While there is no sure way to verify this, some, including the man himself, say Morvath is the originator of several prominent dungeons throughout the continent. Arcane laboratories, space-bound scriptoriums, pocket dimensions — the Dark Elven wizard has clearly been busy over the centuries, scattering his research, artifacts, and spoils throughout the land. Whether to hide his findings or create spaces for adventurers to test their resolve, the true purpose has yet to be revealed. Morvath can occasionally be found strolling about these arcane dungeons, recalibrating the defenses and assisting adventurers he has his eye on. Some other mages regard Morvath as clownish and a disgrace to the pride of wizards, critiques he seems to brush off with ease.
