NVPD
The Neo Vegas Police Department, or NVPD, is ostensibly one of the most well-funded gangs in the entire city. Funded largely through corporate donations and overseen by Citigov officials appointed largely for their loyalty over their aptitude, the NVPD is charged with protecting corporate assets, including property and personnel. Any crimes perpetrated against corp employees that can't be resolved by their internal security divisions tends to fall to the NVPD, and corp-related crimes get shuffled to the top of the pile before anyone else. If someone stole your car and you're not corp-affiliated, the only thing you'll get from filing a police report is two hours of wasted time.
The NVPD typically don't bother responding to calls from non-corp assets in a timely fashion. Unless it's a homicide with multiple body counts, cops are as likely to rob you as they are to take down the details of the mugging you just endured. Many gangs pay up protection to the NVPD to operate with relative impunity along the margins of Neo Vegas, and those that cause too much chaos or disrupt the otherwise gilded paradise of The Strip quickly find themselves facing an overwhelming level of police attention.
Each district has at least one NVPD precinct. Typical patrols include two beat cops in an upgraded cop cruiser, equipped to manage threats with both lethal and nonlethal force. If a more robust armed response is called for, riot squads and SWAT teams can be deployed into hot zones quickly and efficiently. If they encounter any kind of arcane threat that doesn't seem containable, the NVPD's policy is to shoot first and file the report to WATCHTOWER later. Through their connections with WATCHTOWER, the NVPD does keep a few licensed Practitioners on staff for advanced crowd control and forensic work.
