The Miridian Empire

The men, women, and children of the Miridian Empire are remnants from another land, ravishied by war, greed, and wild magic. The remnants that washed ashore Neihadar were desperate and hungry for a land that they could call their own.

Upon landing at a continent they learned was dubbed Neihadar, the humans quickly learned that they already outnumered the loval elvish poplations almost 3-1. The humans quickly claimed a vast swatch of unclaimed land, settling, establishing, and cultivating the land. Although this land was more hospitible than their home land, it was a difficult start in a new and wild world. They found that some of thir crops took to the ground better than others, while their normal quick-growing crops withered and decayed in the lush fields. The Miridians believed that their misfortunes in settling were a direct result of the Elves magic and manipulation. They believed that like the enemies of their homeland, the Elves and other beastly creatures of Neihadar all conspired to destroy any chance of success that the Miridian had. With all the other races of this new world vying for their destruction, the Humans had no other choice than to strike down these wild creatures of magic.

So began the War of Ages; a religious crusade where those that would stand in the way of the Miridian Empire were subjugated or destroyed. The ranks of vassals acquired by the Humans steadily grew, but their favorite race to ensalve were the Dragonborn. Meek in spirit and strong of scale, the Dragonborn were an ideal slave.

After landing in Neihadar in the year 783, it only took a few decades before the humans reached the Dwarvish strongholds of the Nagh Daral Mountain Range. It was here that their expansion ceased and as the human empire set up their seige machines they quicky learned what the Dwarves had been up to over the last century. Dwarven war machines rained boulders and balls of tar on the Human army. The seige went back and forth like this for several years each side vollying projectile after projectile.

With the Humans movement stagnated at the mountain pass, they focused their efforts on colonizing the cities taken over in the conquest. Establishing families and setting up new generations to join the effort in their future. This war has already consumed several generations of Humans, with not even the original King of the Miridian Empire remaining alive. Suddenly out of the blue the Mountain that the capitol city was erected beside erupted, exposing itself as a Volcano. The sudden and unwarned eruption almost destroyed the entirety of the Capitol City significantly weakening the empire as a whole. With such a large military and economic set-back the Humans had no choice but to settle the War with a treaty. After months of negotioations the Consensus of the Century was forged and the land of Neihadar entered into a tentative peace.

Since the end of the War, the capitol city of Miridia has since been rebuilt along the base of the Mount Galakras with polished obsidian where bright limestone once stood. The human race has since spread itself out to the corners of their half the continent, reinhabiting the abandoned villages of the elves and expanding further. They estabished religious cities along the border of the mountain range because the dark magic of the elves had killed what was once lush forest and deserts and dunes had taken their place. They held their own end of the bargain but tales of dark magical beasts descending from the mountain range constantly reach the capitol city and so the humans remain prepared for the ineviabele betrayal of the other races.
