Mythyandia (Myth-Yan-dia)

The Origins of the Elves on Neihadar

In the Year 581 3 portals were rent connecting the Feywilds to the the plane where Neihadar resided. These portals were the origin of the Fey creatures and the 2nd Sentient races on Neihadar. As the beasts of the Feywild crossed the portals and began to setup residence the Elves slowly crossed into Neihadar. They quickly adapted to this lush environment changing and shaping it to better resemble the Feywilds of their home plane.

One specific group of Eladrin made their new home on Neihadar- the Crudorai. Now the Crudorai were well known in the Feywilds as a powerful family, so their arrival in Neihadar marked a significant change to the budding political powers. They were quickly established as leaders of their race, and guiding beacons to those new to this plan. Overtime, they became a sort of Royal Family, and their words quickly became law. The Crudorai are responsible for the establishment of the Mythyandian Realm, they established themselves in the then Neihdarian capitol of Orallenor. Mythandia used to span across the entire continent of Neihadar with beautiful marble cities, sprawling forested villages, and elves in each one. Of course other peaceful races existed amoung the elves including the Tabaxi, the Tortle, the Harengon, and others like them.

Eventually, other races joined the Elveson Neihadar- Firbolgs, Kobolds, Gnomes, Goblins, and of course the Dwarves. In the beginning elves and dwarves interacted very little, one claimed the lower world and another ruled the upper. For eons the two empires existed in peace. However, this peace lasted for a little over 200 years because eventually Humans arrived on Neihadar bringing with them conflict, disease, and new magics.

It was soon after the arrival of the Humans that the then dubbed Miridian Empire began it's conquest across the continent, claiming land and clearing away forest. The abrupt change they brought upset the balance of Neihadar. Any of the Mythyandia that were caught were forced into servitude or killed on site. The harsh treatment of the Mythyandians forced them into swift retreat, with a select few chosen to remain in the cities and attempt to hold the line of defense. The thousands of lives lost like this have since been called the Fighters of Peace and are celebrated every Winter as their decendants and distant relatives remember their heroic deeds. Many lives were lost in the retreat that took place, and many of the young or infirm died in travel.

Although the Elves and Eladrin had increased strength and longer lives than those of their human enemies, they were quickly outpaced in number because the Humans always replenished what they lost in lives in a quarter of the time that it took the Elves. That and their prolonged absence from their homes on the Feywilds led to a flagging weakness.

So began the War of Ages. The first few years were marked by untold slaughter and destruction of the Elves written histories but the Elves remembered their grounded allies, and fled towards the Drawven outposts in the Nagh Daral mountain range. The elves were able to hold their own within the fortifications of the Dwarven cities, and so they waged their war. For several decades the War of Ages stalled at the mountain range, until one day, Mount Galakras erupted demolishing the Human capitol city of Miridia. The elves claim that this is a sign of godly intervention brought about by the Humans wanton destruction of land and beast. The destruction of their center of power forced the Humans into a tentative truce.

Nowadays, the elves live their lives in relative peace, hidden behind the mountains, protected by what remains of their warriors and the Dwarven Range Protectors. The Crudorais till hold a significant power in Mythyandia along with the other 4 major houses- the Galinaster, the Sovetorin, the Spiritclaw, and the Minmendi.

Mythyandian Politics are led by a council comprised of the 5 major families- the Crudorai, the Galinaster, the Sovetorin, the Spiritclaw, and the Minmendi.

While the Crudorai are at the head of the council, they take great efforts to not rise above their peers on the council and give all an equal voice.

The Mythyandian Council at a Glance

  • The Crudorai Family used to be Eladrin, but because of prolonged distance from the Feywilds, now more closely resemble their High Elf brethren. The High Lord Nalaris Crudorai is the Crudorai Family's council seat-holder and he serves as the acting head of Council.
  • The Galinaster Family are another family of noble Elves. Although they had a lower place in the pecking order that the Crudorai in the Feywilds, they have become social leaders, many of the surviving family members aiding in the escape from the Miridian Empires crusade. The council seat holder for the Galinaster famil is the old Elamyr Galinaster, who was one of the first generation of elves born on Neihadar.
  • The Sovetorin Family are a powerful group of Aarkocra that distinguished themselves in the War of Ages as strong spearmen. Currently the Sovetorin family's eldest daughter holds the Council seat- Klaiass Sovetorin.
  • The Spiritclaw Family are Leonin that distinguished themselves during the War as large financial backers, helping to supply Mythyandia with the arms and armor they needed to keep pace with their Dwarven allies. Their Council seat-holder is the young Kior Spiritclaw, successor to the Spiritclaw Family.
  • The Minmendi Family are Harengon most known for their efforts in the sealing of the Dwarven tunnels and their leadership skills used in escorting those who had difficulty seeing in the dark underground tunnels. The current head of family and council seat holder is Thaddeh Minmendi III.
