Session 0030 :Preparing for the Road , Again

After many weeks of recovery, recreation and repose, the The Heretic decide that it's time to re-commit to their goal of rescuing more children. After taking a close look at their skills and equipment, they decide that the best course of action is to ensure that they have better weaponry and armor. Something tells them the deeper they plunge into the The Black Temple, the more dangerous it's going to be for them.   The party decides to shop around for a bit in the Plaza District, a place well known for its unusual items. Finding magical items is difficult at best, but the Plaza District seems to have more than its fair share of strange, powerful, and magical things for sale.   Cathlynn recognizes The Dark Oak Trading Company as The Heretic passes by the building on their way towards a bazaar near Wall Street and Beggar's Boulevard. Cathlynn tells the others that she wants to pop her head in for a visit, asking them to meet her at Dark Oak when they're done with their shopping.   Stepping inside the The Dark Oak Trading Company, Cathlynn encounters a High Elf by the name of Carass. The first thing Cathlynn notices upon entry is just how well kept and minimalistic everything is within the receiving room. Shifting her eyes from the room to Carass, she deduces that he must be behind the ultra-organization of the proprietorship as he is as extremely well-groomed and meticulously dressed, which is saying something about a High Elf.   Cathlynn and Carass exchange pleasantries and have a casual conversation about mutual acquaintances such as Tara and Marja, as well as the past job that she did for them some months ago. During their conversation, the other The Heretic enter the establishment.   Carass goes cold upon their entry, and asks Cathlynn to join him in the back room for a proposal that he has for her, since her first commissioned job with the The Dark Oak Trading Company went so well. There, he asks Cathlynn to deliver a book to Candlekeep in Mythan Belanore. He gives her several conditions:

• She nor no one else is to open the book

• Only she can carry the book, no one else

• She delivers a chest containing 3 potions within as well

  Cathlynn conditions back that the rest of her party join her. After several minutes of strained conversation and careful consideration, Carass agrees to Cathlynn's request.   Cathlynn approaches the rest of the The Heretic who readily agree. Carass then leads the party to a backdoor that goes underneath the The Dark Oak Trading Company and winds around several turns, leading the party back upwards to the street level several blocks away. It seems Carass is as careful with his security as he is with his wardrobe.   The party takes some time to gather items for travel to Candlekeep, obtaining a cart and donkey to haul their various equipment as well as the entire party save Cathlynn, who decides to ride alongside on her horse, Lurial.
