The Saw-Scaled Vipers, a nomadic group of aggressive bandits, find Brismais and are immediately attracted to the more vulnerable homes outside the city walls. They attack numerous times over several years before they finally move on.

The Saw-Scaled Vipers, a nomadic group of aggressive bandits, find Brismais and are immediately attracted to the more vulnerable homes outside the city walls, and the burgeoning trade in beautiful wood from the local forest, and the gold that the Azuarai have begun to accumulate from their trade. Over a few years, they make a number of dreadful attacks, resulting in many deaths and the loss of much wealth.   The Azuarai are angered when the aging Indigois leader, Lindan Crayfoot, and his council refuse to send aid, and essentially leave the Azuarai open to attack.
