Israel is the navigational operator of The Return. After crash landing on Nataal, he's left with Reeder and Rider in Kernelle to recover while Jerrod, Ephraim, and Blizz go into the city to find Eli and the broken pieces of The Return. Israel acted as a friend to Jerrod while he was getting his feet under him aboard The Return. Despite their religious differences, Israel and Jerrod got along well. Both keen of intellect, they both make a game of trying to stump the other with quotes from various forms of literature.
