Ceruleaf
Basic Information
Anatomy
Ceruleaf is a broadleaf perennial plant with large, deep blue leaves. Small white flowers bud in late spring and last just a few short weeks until the summer heat hits. It retains its iconic leaves until the first frost.
Ecology and Habitats
Ceruleaf is almost common enough to be considered a weed, growing naturally in the open prairies, at the base of trees, and the rocky soil near the mountains. Its care is simple enough that most folks grow it in their gardens or in planters in their homes.
Additional Information
Uses, Products & Exploitation
The flowers, stem, and roots of ceruleaf are virtually useless to people. Its brilliant leaves, however, can be boiled or soaked to create a dye, mashed into a paste to create a mild topical anesthetic, or chewed directly as an anti-inflammatory. They are often used with rarer herbs to create more potent healing pastes or elixirs.
The blue of the Court of Magisters comes from a rare shade of ceruleaf dye.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Ceruleaf is native to the Talsirian Expanse. It is an adaptable plant that is found in captivity and curated gardens and greenhouses across Odrainga.
