Statue of the Heroes
The Statue of Heroes has finished in construction in the summer of 524, its creation was arranged by Count Fergus Elde after significant public desire to build something that would honor the heroes who helped reclaim the city after so much strife and horror. The statue is built against the back of the large temple of Vitaria, enabling it to portray a grand scene. There was a great deal of controversy regarding the portrayal of so many individuals not belonging to races legal within the Empire, however after significant debate, and more than a fair share of tavern brawls, it was agreed to depict the adventurers as they were.
The statue's central depiction is of Eclipse, the Heroes of Vernoff. At its centrer is depicted Ezra Elde leading the way with radiant eyes, together with Fen her daggers drawn and her look stern and cautious. Flanking them are Deawynn Springcloud, bow in hands, arrow knocked and glowing with magical energy, her face bearing a warm smile. On the other side is the armored form of Ancalagon, holding his ornate greatsword with both hands, a grim expression on his face with a malicious grin. Carved behind and above them is Aurora, like a mighty guardian with both arms glowing ready to deliver judgement on those who deserve it. At their feet is a dark cat wearing a witches hat, representing Vee, who while not staying with the group long nontheless left an impression on them and the people.
In smaller forms around Eclipse are the Fellfinders, previous adventurers who helped the people of Vernoff. Their inclusion was intially not planned, however after significant petitioning the additional funds were brought by the Count. Leaning aginst his staff and with his head studying a dark book is Khorag. Before him, charging ahead with his maul is Throngur Steelpick, at whose feet the Steelpick Clan had arranged for runes of their clan to be carved. At their feet, Tibit the halfling points the way ahead, hood up, his cloak carved as to be billowing in the wind. On the opposite side, sword on one hand, and arcane runes on another, Valindra stands tall. She is followed by Zekral, with his own blade beared and a calculating expression.
Above all of them, as a divine spirit which watches over all, is Keira. The kind hearted soul who was previously a member of the Mage Slayers, both her hands are clasped above her head, offering the blessing of hope to the heroes below her, and to the people of Vernoff. Her tragic death at the fall of the city was a rallying moment for many who lost their own friends and family to the Gnolls and demonic invaders, and it is said that at the reclamation of the city, her spirit and desire to help caught the eyes of Vitaria, who ascended her into an angel to rise to her side. But not before Keira bestowed one last blessing to Vernoff, by helping Arch Inquisitor Volis Heartbrand put an end to the profane ritual conducted by the Gnolls. Many in Vernoff believe that she was the spirit who brough their salvation, and there are many altars and with offerings in the streets to her name. The Church of Vitaria has said that it was the benevolance of the lady of life which spotted the goodness in Keira's heart and took her to her realm.
