BUILD YOUR OWN WORLD Like what you see? Become the Master of your own Universe!

Character Building

At the beginning of this Campaign, you will be playing in a party of 1st level characters. While building your character, you will need to make selections for the following.

Lineage

Your Lineage (Race) determines the group of people you most resemble. With this lineage, you gain a variety of features that distinguish your kind from others. You choose a Lineage listed below.

Background

Your background provides a structure for what your character was doing before they met the party. The background you choose may grant you additional skills, tool proficiencies, or languages. If you cannot find a background that suits your character, you can mix and match different features of a background. In general, you receive this with a background:
  • You increase one Ability Score by 2 and another Ability Score by 1 or increase three different Ability Scores by 1.
  • Two Skill Proficiencies
  • Two from: Tool Profiencies or Languages
  • Personality Trait, Ideal, Bond, and Flaw
  • One 1st Level Feat of your choice.

Aspect

Your character has an Aspect to which they align. This aspect includes options that reflect the divine gifts from the Golden Goddesses: Courage, Power, and Wisdom. At character creation, you choose one of these Aspects. These aspects are reflected by your Ability Scores.   Courage
  • Aspect: Charisma and Dexterity
  • Thematic Classes: Bard, Paladin, Ranger, Rogue
  • You gain proficiency in Acrobatics (Dexterity), Sleight of Hand (Dexterity), or Performance (Charisma). At 5th level, you double your proficiency bonus for that skill.
Power
  • Aspect: Constitution and Strength
  • Thematic Classes: Barbarian, Fighter, Magus, Pugilist
  • You gain proficiency in Athletics (Strength), Intimidation (Strength), or Survival (Constitution). At 5th level, you double your proficiency for that skill.
Wisdom
  • Aspect: Intelligence and Wisdom
  • Thematic Classes: Artificer, Dancer, Monk, Vessel
  • You gain proficiency in History (Intelligence), Insight (Wisdom), or Religion (Intelligence). At 5th level, you double your proficiency bonus for that skill.
When you make an ability check with any of the three skills listed for your Aspect, you can use either Ability Score listed for your Aspect.   Additionally, when you choose your Aspect, you increase one of the two Ability Scores associated with your Aspect by 2, to a maximum of 16. You also choose an Ability Score that is not from your Aspect and decrease it by 2 (to a minimum of 5).   Thematic Classes are merely meant to be suggestions. This Aspect may influence later decisions within the world itself and some magic items will react differently depending on what Aspect guides you.
