World Overview
The World at a Glance
Mythralune is a high fantasy world of ancient beauty and vibrant chaos, shaped by divine hands and threaded with the lifeblood of magic. Its lands are alive—teeming with sentient forests, elemental seas, forgotten ruins, and the echoes of gods who still walk among their creations. The world is defined by myth, magic, and the relationships between civilizations, nature, and the divine.
Geography
The known continent of Mythralune is shaped like a great dragon’s wing, split into three major regions, each with four distinct settlements:
1. The Lilted Vale (Center)
- A flourishing region of forests, waterfalls, and leyline convergence.
- Known for chaotic, abundant magic and sentient flora.
- Populated by elves, halflings, gnomes, plantfolk, and animalfolk.
- Governed by Archdruid Lysenna Virellis of the Circle of the Moon.
- Prioritizes balance, discovery, and the stewardship of wild power.
2. Embergarde (Northwest)
- A rugged land of mountains, fire-forged plains, and storm-bitten skies.
- Home to miners, smiths, battle-clans, and deep magical traditions tied to elemental forces.
- Civilization coexists with dangerous terrain, ancient forges, and relics buried beneath the stone.
3. Virellia (Coastline & Southeast)
- A coastal expanse of city-states, coral isles, and misty riverlands.
- Known for its artistry, myth-weaving, sea monsters, and moonlit rituals.
- Culture steeped in death lore, star prophecy, and shifting tides both literal and symbolic.
Magic & Leylines
Magic is elemental and omnipresent in Mythralune. It flows through leyline networks that pulse beneath the earth, giving rise to wild magic surges, ancient constructs, and magic-infused species. Some scholars have began to work on mapping these in several documents.
Arcane study exists, but raw magic is often emotional, unstable, and responsive to intention and place. The boundaries between druidic, arcane, and divine magic are blurred.
