Originally built as a druidic sanctuary and apiary by a circle of bee-kin halflings, Buzzwillow Chapel now functions as both a spiritual haven and a place of deep magical memory. While rites to Elyndra are still practiced daily, Selaveth’s influence has grown in recent generations, drawing seekers who wish to reconnect with lost dreams or restore forgotten knowledge. The chapel also serves as a ceremonial site for birth blessings, oaths of peace, and seasonal pollination festivals.

The building is not so much constructed as it is coaxed. A cluster of massive willow trees arches together to form the chapel’s central chamber, their trunks braided with golden vines and waxy hives. Hexagonal patterns appear naturally in the wood grain, while flowers—especially moon-petaled violets and golden crocus—bloom from knot-hollows and alcoves. The main sanctum is a large oval, about 40 feet wide and 60 feet long, with a vaulted canopy that opens to starlight at night.

There are three main entrances: a central arbor-gate framed in woven honeycomb lattice, and two smaller footpaths that wind beneath flowering roots. No door bars entry, but bees often block those with ill intent—an unspoken pact formed long ago. During sacred rituals, thick curtains of golden pollen fall across the arches as shimmering veils.

Warmth and golden light suffuse the interior at all hours, filtered through layers of petal-glass and buzzing wings. The scent is rich with wild honey, lavender, and deep earth. When Virellia briefly lost connection to the leyline network decades ago, the chapel shimmered out of phase for several weeks, returning with stranger flora blooming in its roots.

The chapel’s architecture is entirely organic, grown rather than built. While the rest of Honeyknell Hollow favors cozy hill-burrows and spiral-wood cottages, Buzzwillow is a living sanctum that gleams with a soft inner light. Its style is reminiscent of ancient fey temples but overgrown with local flavor—chaotic yet deeply intentional.

The bees themselves act as sentinels. At least one awakened hive, the Gildswarm, patrols the chapel in the form of a buzzing golden spiral. Subtle leyline wards laced into the roots deter fiends and necromantic influence, and several hidden seed-crystals buried around the grounds can rapidly bloom into vine-walls during attack.
