Eires: Lord of Eagles

Eires (a.k.a. Lord of Eagles)

Eires is the second eldest of the Powers, and greater in power and might than any, other than the dark one. He created the sky, and the airs are his. He worked closely with Ulmir and Tyr in the earliest days to create rain and clouds and the mountains reaching into the air. Birds are also his, and they bring him messages from all over the earth, so that he knows all that is happening across the lands. He dwells on the top of Mount Erestor, overlooking the Ethereal Slopes on the edges of the Immortal Realm, and his far seeing eyes can pick out even the smallest details on the far shore. He can see through the eyes of Eagles, and they are his special messengers, bringing hope and freedom to all who receive their blessing. He is the Lord of the Powers, and ruler of all the earth, and his word is final, but he is a benevolent lord, and loves all his subjects. He worked closely with Tyr to heal the hurts of the world after the horrors of the Rending, and sent many of his Sylvar to protect mortals from the war instead of using them strategically in battle, though he himself was instrumental in helping to bind Tirzaan, pronounced his doom, and personally thrust him from the Edge of Night.   Eires tends to have a temple in each of the major cities, and is generally worshipped and revered by everyone, regardless of their chosen faith. Those who choose to follow Eires solely live a life dedicated to justice and freedom, helping those who are oppressed or weak to stand up for themselves. They value law and order, but also value freedom to choose, so long as the one choosing is not harming others. They are well respected, and adventurers who follow Eires can almost always find help and shelter without much difficulty.   Eires’ Sylvar most often take the form of golden Eagles which roam the earth in search of those in need. They sometimes bring messages to his followers when they ask for counsel. When they take the form of humans, they are golden-haired and golden-eyed, and are tasked with bringing justice and help to those who need it.
