The Goblin Kingdom of Shioni

Shioni is a mostly Goblinoid Kingdom. About 200 years ago, the Goblinoids over ran the mostly human Brealan Empire and renamed it Shioni. The Hobgoblins are in charge now. This Kingdom has many towns, villages and a couple of large cities. They do keep slaves, but they also bargain with freemen and freemen can become licensed to set up shops. The free humans wear small tablets on a neck chain - these stone tables have a symbol on them that means free in Goblin. This can be lucrative as the Hobgoblins, for the most part, are not self sufficient when it comes to manufacturing or building, or even farming. While they can “get by”, their history has typically been to attack, defile, steal, and move on. However about 200 years ago, under the command of the Hobgoblin, Sruisnoing, they over ran Brealan and stayed. They have strengthened their rule with alliances with the humans that chose to stay as freemen. They allowed, and actually encouraged, the humans that had wealth, knowledge, and skills to stay as freemen and continue to live well and apply their trade. This alliance has continued, and, in fact, the Hobgoblins pay them very well as incentive because they know these skilled men could leave. The grandson of Sruisnoing now rules, his name is Grodex.   Shioni is bordered on the west by a forest and the east by another Kingdom - but they have built a stone wall to cut themselves off from this human kingdom and the wall is patrolled. To the South is a mountain range and to the North is also a mountain range.   Humans that are slaves do not have such a tablet as was mentioned above and they have tattoos that mark who owns them. If they are then sold to someone else, magic is used to remove the first tattoo and a new tattoo for the new owner is added.
