Zeru
These animals are a common sight in Southern Almahna, not to mention a spectacular sight. They have a very distinctive white coat with black stripes. Mostly they are docile and tend to just graze on the grasses of the Southern Almahnan plains, moving around the plains in massive herds of around 30 to 50 individual animals. When threatened, the males will send the rest of the herd to run away while they stay back and fight to defend themselves and the herd. They have a stunning ability to emit a bright flash of white light, blinding their foes.

Discovery
From the notes of Doctor Ivan Sanderson.
"Just observing these marvelous animals is a sight to behold. They are so gentle and so graceful, and their coats are gorgeous. I could watch them for hours on end. What I find most fascinating is the way their black hazy manes can transform into this whitish-yellow colour at a moment's notice. Light and Darkness, two seemingly opposing forces, come together in one animal. Most fascinating. I surmise that the changing of color of their manes, particularly for the males may be a function of their mating ritual."
