Openers
Structure
The Speakers that took this side are Klaus Fisher, Mahina Galax and Beatrix Heller. Thanks to this the Tamers under their magical division sided their Speaker, at least in most cases.
The hierarchy in this group is more permissive than in the Shutters side, given that even though Klaus is the leader the Storm Tamers receive a similar treatment than the Shifting Tamers and they try to do the same to the Shadow Tamers.
Outside of this the ranks remain the same in position of power:
- Klaus Fisher (Leader and Lead Speaker)
- Mahina Galax and Beatrix Heller (Speaker of Selene and Speaker of Siskli respectively)
- Stone Keepers
- Generals
- Selectors
Culture
The Openers are considered to be liberalists, thinking about adapting for the future more than rooting for the past. They believe that by opening the Rift again they are not dishonoring the Fallen Witches but more like maintaining their legacy by saving their descendants.
They are also seen as more practical and less ruthless than the Shutters, but to those who stand against them they are just looking for survival while not respecting what they were given. Though they value life and survival over almost everything they are also known for being less aggressive and extremists in comparison to the Shutters who take a more brutal approach.
Assets
The Openers have troops with Tamers from almost any magical division, this due to them accepting anyone who would like to join their cause. However they also have big troops with some of their most powerful Storm, Shifting and Shadow Tamers thanks to their generals.
They have access to a lot of equipment that was managed by the Council of Whispers because of Klaus being the Lead Speaker before the war started. This equipment goes from magic artifacts to weapons for close combat, also including food, water and healing resources.
For fortifications they have Rift Hollow and Rift Court under their command, and they can pass through the territory with less trouble than what the Shutters would have. And they have control over Rift City and most of the settlements of the magical divisions associated to them.
History
The Operners are a rather recent organization, but the thought of reopening the portal to restore the magic flow has been in Myridiam for a while. However they were only considered rebels or non-important thanks to their little impact on society, everything changed when the Lead Speaker sided them.
This created panic at first since no important figure before had proposed this, let alone the Lead Speaker. The Tamers started taking sides, and though Klaus's plan was perfectly explained the Council of Whispers had to vote. After this Myridiam was divided in two main movements: The Openers and the Shutters.
After that the Rifting Skirmish began and the non-declared war has been going for 10 years from now. The two sides have lost and won different encounters but there haven't really being something decisive to the date. However the Openers side is considered to be slightly weaker thanks to their numbers and the state of the Speaker of Selene.
Demography and Population
The amount of followers in this side of the Rifting Skirmish is smaller than in the Shutters side due to them not having in their side the Soil Tamers, who are the most numerous group, and also to them only having recruits and not forcing anyone to join them.
They can travel around Myridiam with relative ease and there are no openly opposed cities ruled by their magical divisions, however the Sun, Soul, and Soil cities are highly hostile to them. This is because if someone dares to welcome them there they will be considered traitors and will suffer a public execution in most of the cases.
Territories
The Openers have the support of all the Shifting, Storm, and Shadow linked cities, with the exceptions of some towns that decided to stay neutral in the conflict. They also have control over Rift City and Rift Hollow, having some of the most important points for both trade and cultural significance.
They are heavily opposed on Soul, Sun and Soil cities and towns, excluding the ones who fight for staying neutral and the ones that have an alliance with them.
One of the group's biggest fears is that the Shifting linked territories will decide to stop supporting them because of their pacific nature and their previous alliance with the Soul Tamers.
Military
Their military is often divided by their magical divisions, training them so they can achieve their highest potential. However when the soldiers have reached certain levels they are assigned to a group with different types of Tamers depending on the abilities they display, they are called packs. Being a reference to the wolf familiar of the Lead Speaker.
Their soldiers are well trained and usually motivated by their desire of ending the war instead of fear. They also have a powerful combination, thanks to having two of the "strongest" types of magic, and by having the plans and information provided by their allies.
Technological Level
The Openers have a rather similar level of technological and scientific advances than the rest of Myridiam, with the most important differences being that their weapons are less deadly than the Shutters one, and they they rely mainly on their magic thanks to having the control of most of the Storage crystals on their power.
In the scientific area they have been having advances in the last years, specially with the healing sector, directing many of their resources to that specific topic.
Religion
The Openers respect the the Fallen Witches, as most of Myridiam does. However thanks to their desires of opening the Rift some Tamers consider them heretics and traitors to the sacrifice their ancestors made.
Foreign Relations
The Openers have some bases and allies on Shutter cities and even some members of the higher ranks of the opposing magical divisions. However most of the population, outside of the Shifting, Shadow, and Storm Tamers, has a hostile behavior towards them, fearing the rage of Enaiid himself.
Some of their secret bases are:
- Vine House, in Torpaq.
- A settlement in the port of Stuhi's Cove
- The various towns surrounding Mirage City.
- A secret headquarter behind the volcano where Siskli's Lake is located.
- A group of traders in Surya city that travel through Sprout City regularly.
- Several nobles from Soil Tamers.
- The Soul Stone Keeper.
- The Selector of Sun Tamers
Trade & Transport
The Openers have been trying to keep their trade relationships, and they transportation hasn't changed much, except for the fact that some important groups with missions tend to travel through secret routes and paths that were not very well known before or that have been created for this very purpose.
Education
The soldiers and recruits are taught the basics on geography and Tamer rules before even being accepted, while also being taught to write and read if given the time.
After this is taught they learn how to strengthen their bond with their familiar and the use of basic weaponry, alongside the treaties and allies they have, not revealing the ones in a compromised position, and finally they get to learn more spells and attacks related to their magical division.
Finally their are assigned to a pack and they learn about teamwork and other techniques that can be used in various situations.
Infrastructure
The most important point for the Openers is probably Rift City, since having the control of the capital makes them see as the dominant side while also helping them control many of the resources Myridiam has.

Currency
The openers have resources that would usually be directed to the Council of Whispers, which means that they manage large amounts of money and that they have access to it even though they don't use it that much because they fear it may cause more internal problems in their population. They use the witch-silver to make moons that are the official currency of Myridiam.
Major Exports
Same than with the imports they have been trying to keep their normal rhythm, but this has been hard thanks to the frequent attacks to their traders and the closed paths and lines. They have also been trying to limit the sell of "dangerous" materials that could be used as weapons or magic catalysts.
Major Imports
The Openers have been trying to maintain the commercial relationships as they were before the Rifting Skirmish started, but due to the Shutter cities exporting the minimum they have been having a hard time while trying to diminish the discrimination between the Tamers.
Legislative Body
The rules and laws are supposed to be made by the three Speakers that united in this side of the movement, but thanks to Mahina's delicate state everything is mostly done by Klaus Fisher and Beatrix Heller, specially the latter.
Outside of them, the Selectors, Keepers and Generals also contribute to the organization.
Judicial Body
This rules are seen by the would be seen by the whole Council of Whispers, but due to the lack of members the decision is normally informed to the noble ranks and then they apply them, with the upper ranks making sure it is well understood.
Executive Body
The ones in charge of applying this rules are usually the soldiers under the General's command, the Selector also helps with the newly arrived Tamers and the ones that just transferred. Finally, the Keepers will deal with anything more complicated, specially if the problem has to do with magic use or abuse of it.
If the problem is really big it will be notified to the Speaker who will deal with it themselves or send someone to help with it.
