Barzu's contract
In 1471 Barzu Golddew signed a contract with Clavicus Vile, agent of Boethiah, stating the following:
CLAVICO'S CONTRACT - DISCREET DELIVERY
By the Binding Flame and in Accord with the Twisting Law Let it be known, on this day in the shadowed hour of dusk, that Barzu Golddew, of hobbit-blood sound of limb and mind, enters willingly into this Pact with Clavicus, duly appointed as the Dealmaker by the Lady of Plots, hereafter referred to as the Infernal Patron.ARTICLE I: TERMS OF TASK
The Contractor, Barzu Golddew, shall receive a sealed letter, etched with a glyph known only to the Infernal Patron, and shall deliver this letter into room 142 of the Aquamarine building on the Luthetia university grounds. Said delivery must be accomplished:- Without the letter being opened, unfolded, scanned, smelled, enchanted, steamed, pierced, or otherwise tampered with or its contents known
- Without the intended recipient being made aware of the sender’s identity or infernal nature through any means.
- Without the contractor knowing the recipient's identity
- The delivery must occur unnoticed, both in action and intent, by all mortal and magical entities save the Infernal Patron and the contractor's mortal companions known as Midge, Agatha, Lunor and Sotha Sil.
ARTICLE II: REWARD
As sign of good faith, the Contractor shall be granted a spark of Infernal Power, defined as a level gain in the Warlock class with choice of the Contractor on the Spellcasting Ability This gift shall be bound to the Contractor’s soul for a period no less than nine mortal years, unless revoked under breach.ARTICLE III: CONSEQUENCES OF BREACH
Should the Contractor breach any clause within this Agreement — including, but not limited to, opening the letter, informing the recipient, or allowing the delivery to be noticed — the Infernal Patron shall be entitled to:- Revoke the granted powers and siphon magical energy from the Contractor's soul (Lose both the gained Warlock level and another class level)
- Inflict upon the Contractor a Hex of Withering Words, rendering their speech clumsy and unconvincing for a duration of 24 hours
