Personal history
Ricky, his brother, and their mother had fled Muxter at a young age to flee the turbulent situation beginning to engulf The Nine Systems and their homeworld in particular. They settled in a quiet town on a little-known world called Earth, where they lived out their days in peace until the year 2464, when Dwayne was abducted by aliens.
Ricky shouldered the financial burden on the family while his brother met an uncertain fate, although he did not report the matter to authorities, fearing exposure for the two remaining Grovers as to their true Muxteran identity. He had planned to dust off the family's old craft and see if it was still spaceworthy when Dwayne was left almost on their doorstep, bleeding from a severe injury.
Ricky patched him up and sat with him until he could eat, and he and their mother brewed a story to tell the police, which became a matter of public record around twenty-four hours later. The story was that Dwayne had little memory of his encounter, but had produced a drawing of a star map in a semi-conscious state. Reporters, UFOlogists, and the general public ate the story up and when Dwayne was well enough to travel, they began making the rounds at UFO conventions.
It did not escape skeptics' notice that Ricky and Dwayne categorically refused hypnosis or physical examination, and continue to do so well into the present, and this mere fact has caused many "debunkers" to write the case off wholesale. However, the motivation then as now has always been to protect their identity as Muxterans, over and above proving the existence of aliens.
Awww he's such a good brother! <3

:D I do my best with these. My personal cliche of choice is "protective siblings".
