Yarrox

Societies and Peoples

Townsfolk

Blacksmiths, barkeeps, seamstresses, farmhands, and bored kids kicking dust in the street. They are the “default” crowd, tired, nosy, and just brave enough to stick around when everyone sensible would have left.

Dustbound Spirits

Quiet, slightly off-kilter “people” who are actually desert spirits riding a willing host or stitched body. They work odd jobs, follow old pacts, and get twitchy when storms roll in or old names are spoken.

Kobold Cowboys

Tiny, sun-scorched lizard folk in oversized hats, riding goats, ponies, or whatever livestock tolerates them. They are absurdly good at wrangling herds, fixing busted gear with scrap, and starting saloon fights they cannot finish.

Factions and Tensions

The Horizon Line Pact

A loose coalition of halfling caravaners, kobold cowhands, and human riders who escort travelers, break up lynch mobs, and keep the trails open. They are underfunded, overworked, and stubborn enough to ride toward gunfire if it means getting folks home alive.

Black Tally Company

A rail, mine, and banking syndicate that owns half the deeds in the territory and wants the other half. They write contracts like nooses, hire guns to “enforce policy,” and treat every town as a resource to drain, not a place full of people.

The Bleached Star Posse

Once a sheriff’s posse, now a roaming band of self-righteous executioners who hang their own tin stars from every gallows. They hunt outlaws, “heretics,” and anyone they decide is a problem, and the worst part is some towns still cheer when they ride in.

  • Yarrox will work beautifully with DnD and Daggerheart, but I can't wait to try it with Deadlands, Last Chance Saloon, and Shooting Iron!
