Personal history
Kzuk is the latest in a long line of Ebonlake chiefs, a title earned not through heritage but through hardship and strength.
Born into the house of Krum in Ebonlake, from a young age Kzuk was a naturally charismatic child who took quickly to leadership roles and spent much of his youth helping his elders and befriending his fellows. Kzuk came of age during a time of war with Kresk so when the time came for his generation to make their requests to the elders, most chose weapons so that they could take up arms against the invaders, but Kzuk asked for a shield, stating that he wished to be a bulwark for his people to keep them safe. Mosh Maal, the Chief of Ebonlake at the time was so taken with Kzuks request that he personally swore to see it through, forging an Adamantine shield for him. upon delivering the shield to Kzuk, Mosh told him that he looked forward to the day Kzuk Challenged him for the throne of Ebonlake.
Kzuk would go on to lead a large war band in the war with Kresk, beating them back to their borders and even claiming one of their border forts for the Midian Empire. Kzuk was honored by the emperor for his actions in the war and offered a 12 year tour as an officer in the legion, honored to fight for the emperor he accepted. Kzuk spent the next 12 years of his life as an imperial officer, he was given lessons in state craft, warfare, and tactics by some of the best tutors in the legion. after his tour Kzuk was decorated as a veteran of the legion and offered an estate in the capital, but he turned this down instead opting to return home to his people where he belonged.
Not long after his return Kzuk did challenge Mosh for the leadership of the clan, and after a duel that the bards would sing of forever more (or at least till present day) Kzuk was hailed victorious as the new Chief of Ebonlake. Mosh fought honorably and Kzuk had no interest in killing a man he looked up to all his childhood, instead Mosh was offered a seat on Kzuks council where he helped him manage the civilian matters that his military life did not prepare him for.
