Marakuma

Nestled at the heart of western Pangu ōkoku, Marakuma rises like a beacon of divine will a sprawling metropolis of towering stone spires, golden domes, and labyrinthine streets bathed in perpetual sunlight. At its core stands the Castle of the Sun Emperor, a colossal fortress of white stone and gilded steel, its multiple levels ascending toward the heavens like a staircase for the gods. From its highest towers, the emperor’s banners emblazoned with the radiant symbol of the sun flutter in the wind, casting their shadow over the ordered grid of the city below.
The people of Marakuma, known as Taiyōjin, are infused with the spirits of Order, their movements precise, their wills unshakable. Clad in robes of crimson and gold, they walk the city’s immaculate boulevards, their lives governed by the rhythm of the sun and the emperor’s decrees.
Markets hum with disciplined trade, temples resonate with hymns of devotion, and the air itself seems to thrum with the energy of cosmic harmony. Here, chaos is an alien concept, crushed beneath the weight of ritual, law, and the unyielding light of the Sun Emperor’s rule.
Yet beneath the gleaming surface, whispers persist. In the shadowed alleys and forgotten undercrofts, some dare to question whether such perfect order comes at the cost of the soul. And when the sun dips below the horizon if only for a moment the city’s true secrets begin to stir.
