Frontier Session 24 Report
General Summary
Session 24: 01-06-2025
After the battle of Brightwater, reconstruction efforts of the town have begun. Worker crews have been assigned to the New Halcyon Plantation to contruct the basic and special facilities for the party.
Hiron has taken it upon himself to act as supervisor, has assigned numbers and bar codes to the workers. He expects all workers to follow an extensive code of conduct that they have signed in confusion.
During the reconstruction a cart with various strange objects arrive in town. A man in a dusty suit and talks his way past the guards and approaches Hiron to inquire about the adventurers who defeated the Imperial forces in this region. He introduces himself as Corrin Brasshook, from Brasshook Antiquities based in Mori, he explains he has been traveling from Lorrukh looking for artifacts. He sees opportunities in this new nation outside of the laws of the Empire. Meeting with the rest of the party in a chaotic fashion he decides to work with them to start smuggling artifacts and goods to Empire.
After this meeting they take the Ravager Ornithopter to the guard tower in the north and set out through the jungle. Suicu recalls the path perfectly scouting from the air as a raven. They hike up to the base of the mountain and decide to setup camp. During the night Glee notices a quick flash of orange eyes in the bushes he calls to arms with the others they charge him down.
It's a Yuan-Ti scout by the name of Szezth, who is keeping watch for people approaching the pass and specifically the "Defilers" of their temples in the region. He speaks of a city inhabited by thousands but Corrin notices from the way he speaks that he sees the snakes and lizards as people too. Planting a magical suggestion in his mind they let him go to tell the high priests about the party and a meeting site nearby.
They stop and compare notes, with the data from the data banks recovered in the ancient laboratories under the volcano of Lor they put together that the Yuan-Ti are the people from before the Scarring who worshiped the lost god Zehir. The people are ruled by a tyrannical theocracy of Zehiran priests, who sacrifice humanoids to their god and have been kidnapping settlers from Brightwater.
