Forest of Stone
A large petrified forest filled with long dead tries. The trees have been pines or oaks at some point but they seem to have turned to stone including the leaves and roots.
The forests are devoid of life as the floor is only ash and dirt. Only a few patches of weeds or fungus can be seen as living.

Barren. Only a few patches of vegetation and fungus survives with only some bugs and small rodents surviving in the dead forest.

History
Before the Scarring there was a large forest of pines and large oaks, filled with animals and life. Tribes of Wood Elves made their home here and there were several Illium outposts.
The Council of Archmagi decided to construct the great machine here away from prying eyes in the capital.
