Elven
"We are the true inheritors of this world, both of our current prison, and the lands beyond. You are merely corruptions, failed creatures, living embarrassments to our purity."The elven, or as they insist on being known as, the Elven are a race of exceptionally magically powerful yet physically weak race of Moorod. They see themselves as the pinnacle point of civilization, an the rightful rulers of the other "inferior" races of the Room. Ruling from their lofty white towers, their dazzling magic and sparkling lights of their realm impress many, but hide the dark secrets of the elven. While compared to other races of the Room, the elven are weak and easily wounded, but in the regards of raw magical talent, they are unmatched. Sorcerers from birth, they can conjure explosive and dramatic spells, weave reality to their own illusion, and re-forge the workings of life and nature, speaking in the language of magic, which they haughtily claim is actually their own language. A people impressed only by art and skill, their obnoxious self-righteousness is annoying and infuriating to many, but none can deny that the elven people make strong allies. The Nephinal uphold a pleasing-policy and remain allied to them, as the powerful forces of the elven mages prove extremely useful against the mighty army of Mig. And while the elven may put on a grand show and perform marvelous feats of magical arts, they overlook those they deem inferior, mistreating the workers and tormented creatures that build their lofty castles, and cast out the very abominable monsters they created through wild experiments.-An unnamed Leredae
Basic Information
Anatomy
The elven are similar to most of the humanoid races of Moorod. They stand as tall humanoids, typically around 6', and have long arms, legs, and fingers. They are often described as "flawless" and beautiful, and have pale skin. From their head flows a long an uncut stream of blue or white hair, which is never cut. They naturally have blue or bright green eyes, but most change their eye color with spells; thus, it is not uncommon to encounter an elven with purple or pink or even yellow eye colors.
Biological Traits
While being keen with the art of magic, the elven are very weak compared to other races, with a significant lack of strength and endurance. They are also susceptible to minor wounds, which are deadly, and a typical major wound is a death blow. Therefore, many elven avoid and are extremely afraid of battle or fights and being put through intensive labor, and rely heavily on magic talents to protect and defend themselves.
Genetics and Reproduction
The elven have a typical gestation period of nine months.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Large ears are one of the trademark signs of an elven, which can be compared similarly to that of a bat. These large ears provide enhanced hearing and gives the elven excellent listening abilities, able to hear soft and quiet noises. They also frequently use magic to "tap" into the world around them, with which they can sense or locate people or objects
Civilization and Culture
Major Organizations
The elven reside in Teurhoemo, or Elfland, and are ruled by the Leredae, the "leader" of the elven people. S/he is usually chosen by popularity, based on how much the people and the nobles like the candidate, and many that are elected are merely charismatic easy-goers, who rule with little political authority, but maintains the figure-head image of Teurhoemo. Some, however, truly wield the power they have, and have almost total control over the realm.
Beneath the Leredae, are the Winernesi "Wise men". They are a council of aged and wise elven, who, depending on the Leredae, either wield the real power of Teurhoemo, or mere assist their ruler.
Finally, beneath them, are the Satraps. This body is formed from diverse elven, who govern small sections or certain areas of work (e.g. Satrap of Section 7, Satrap of Metal Economics, etc.). Most elven serve as a Satrap at some point during their long lives.
The average elven usually has little influence over the politics of their nation, but can affect political leaders by pleasing or displeasing them. Much of this is based off of popularity and influence, rather than election or political skill.
Major Language Groups and Dialects
The elven, being the haughty race they are, claim that the language of magic (the verbal speaking incantations used to cast spells) is actually their own natural tongue, saying that the other races stole or use their language themselves. The elven all speak the normal language of the world, but within their own rooms they converse in "Elvish". This gives a nearly unmatched skill in speaking spells, as they can say nearly any spell without even thinking.
Common Dress Code
All elven hate dull or plain colors, and are an artistic race. There clothes are a reflections of this, colorful and dramatic, glittering with various and bright colors and enhanced with magical shining spells. They wear these long robes to display their talents and prowess in arcane arts.
History
Little is known about the origin of the elven. They claim to be descendants of the race of the Builders of the Room (or Moorod, as they call their world). According to their mythos, the ancient Builders created the Moorod to their safe haven while they purged the world of the corrupt nations and vile races through the use of the Cure. The Builders were to reside in Moorod, and then return to reclaim the land, and rebuild it into a realm or order and built upon the ideals of their own culture. However, a few splintered off of the Builder race, runts and misfits, stains to their glorious perfections, and ushering in an era of war. The elven claim that they are the pure race of the Builders, and that they are destined to rule all of Moorod, and then emerge into the world, to rebuild it in their way.
Whatever, their origin, the elven have long ruled and resided from Teurhoemo, the massive complex made up of various levels and glorious castles. For most of their history, the elven have been rarely attacked, as their raw magic skills can conjure up storms that sweep away enemies. While their myths urge them to take over Moorod (and some Leredae's have attempted this) most elven merely live for a good time, such as parties, fashion, and art. The elven are also notorious for being very wild with magic, and their infamous "experiments", wherein they take (typically unwilling) animal, human, or even elven subjects and test whatever they want on them. The products are either dead aberrations or grotesque beings, mutants or every shape and size. These creatures are ridiculed and cast out, sent to the Scour Fields, which are full of the remnants of the twisted monsters of the elven.
While the elven may be cruel and haughty people, they have long held an alliance with the Nephinal, who use their magical skills against the Mig forces.
