Session 37: Weekend at D'arlington's
General Summary
The group convened at the body of Maximillian, trying to determine how they would get the body to a discrete and safe location. While many plots were discussed on how to move the body approximately 50 feet, ultimately it was determined that Illevaere would cast animate dead and they would act as if Maximillian were drunk and lead him to one of the bedrooms. Fortunately, it was determined that there was a side door that the group could enter without drawing attention to the undead Maximillian passing through the dancing guests. Ultimately, Maximilian’s animated body was moved to the downstairs bedroom and the door was locked by Lysandrea and the party went out to investigate the assumed murder.
The party considered Wistari as one of the prime suspects, as Illevaere’s conversation with Dewspark seemed to imply that Wistari was protecting the Moonwell and was uncertain if Maximillian D’arlington would have been a threat.
Seeing that the yellow handbag seemed to match Roslinda’s outfit, Bolvaic gathered her for questioning, despite Lysandrea’s declaration that she did not think that Roslinda could be guilty. When brought before the group, with Lysandrea’s encouragement, Roslinda was informed of the situation and she spoke on her knowledge.
Roslinda admitted to being in a contract and having an ArchFey patron–Stag King of the Autumn Court. She states that she was aware of his worry that the Silver Lodge might change hands and the portal to his realms be desecrated. She was observing the wedding at his behest, but was unaware of Maximilian’s demise. Roslinda confirmed to the party that the Moonwell was a portal to the Stag King’s realm in the Autumn Court.
With the information gathered, the party asked Lysandrea to delay the party as long as she were able as they planned on heading through the Moonwell and into the Autumn Court to confront Wistari on his motive and action.
