Session 34: Talk Darcy to Me

Introductions were made as the guests all arrived and the pre-ceremony celebration began with the party beginning their light mingling with the guests at the Silver Lodge. The bride’s guest included her family, both from her human and from her elven heritages, and the groom’s guests included her family as well as several friends.   Bolvaic’s initial attempts to befriend Thalgion, the high elven cousin of Lysandrea, were not well-received by the elf, despite the dwarf’s insistence to the contrary. Thalgion’s attempts to distance himself from Bolvaic were also met with interference.   Tiarjead made light conversation with a couple of the gentlemen in the library, speaking to Calim about his relationship with the groom, since he was invited by the groom. Claim said that while he serves in the Queen’s Navy, he has also run transport and freight escorts from the D’arlington’s mining business from their mines to the north. Because of this, this have become acquainted and friendly with one another. Brady, Maximillian D’arlington’s cousin, was also there and mentioned their sailing as well. Tiarjead also spoke with Maximillian himself, who flirted a bit with her, even though it was his wedding day.   In conversations with Rograf, he claimed to be close to Maximillian and that he saved his life once, however, the story seemed a little suspicious and not fully credible as he fumbled for specifics and details.   Niklas, Tertius’ uncle by marriage and the only other Northlander at the party, spoke with Levi, asking about the nature of his friendship with Tertius, since he saw the pair holding hands earlier. Niklas seemed genuinely curious and interested rather than derogatorily asking.   Ilbryen was able to speak to Maximillian and offered to bless his upcoming union, and he agreed. In the ceremony, however, Ilbryen secretly cast Remove Curse, in hopes of curing the family’s curse, or at least its effect on him.   After a while, the ceremony broke up into two separate events. Some of the guests were planning on joining Maximillian as he took a group out on horseback to go hunting, while Lysandrea was taking a group out for a light picnic and tea. Meabh declined to attend either event as her being chair-bound would cause issues with each. Saevel remained behind stating that he had a migraine and Rograf remained behind stating that he had something to work on.   Maximilian led the group to the stables to prepare for hunting. He was joined by Lillian, Aralmeni, and Thalgion, as well as with Bolvaic and Tiarjead. Levi had originally preferred to go to tea, but Tertius was excited to ride, so Levi went with him. The beagles were brought out and the wolf pups joined in the hunt. After initially not finding anything, the hunting party took a small break. While unprepared a white hart with a large rack crashed into their clearing, pausing and looking at the group. Before the group could ready themselves, the hart dashed away and a moment later, Lord Blaine Markinswell entered the clearing in pursuit of the hart along with several of his retinue. He made eye contact with the party and hurried after the hart. Maximilian yelled for the group to mount up and hurry to catch the hart first.   The two groups raced for the hart, trying to reach it while also trying to impede members of the other group. Tertius and Levi were not able to keep pursuit and fell behind. Bolvaic threw a javelin right before Lord Markinswell’s horse, causing him to stumble and be thrown–an action that was not lost upon Maximillian. Tiarjead progressed ahead of Maximillian closing on the hart, but it was ultimately Lillian who dove off of her mount and tackled the hart bare-handed who brought down the quarry. Tertius suggested that the stag be released, but Maximillian was set upon having a trophy of his besting of Lord Markinswell, which he admitted a rivalry with after Markinswell stole a lady out from under him.   Maximilian was impressed with his adopted sister, but cheerfully thanked Bolvaic for halting Markinswell and also flirted with Tiarjead after seeing her riding prowess, asking if dragonborn fertilized their eggs internally or externally. When it was mentioned to Maximillian that he was getting married today, he remarked that he was not married yet. Taking the hart as a trophy, the group happily returned to the Silver Lodge.
