Moongy's First Realm WorldEmber 2024 Pledge

Week 1: November 3, 2024 My Focus will be in documenting the variety of locations that have been previously created over some dozens (maybe 100?) sessions. These are perilously documented on piles of papers in a variety of folders and binders.   Along the way, a little polish and consistency will be applied   Week 2: November 11, 2024 The test on my hompeage has been rewritten to better communicate the basics of the world setting. I have added my first decent attempt at a Player Primer. I will likely go back over this over the next few days and add some suitable graphics. Wound up globally adding the "Follow" button to the bottom of all articles. In terms of how I approached this, I reviewed the helpful guides and looked at several example pages. I contrasted the impressive work some others have done against my desire to get this whole page to be a usable player resource by the end of the year. I decided that for now erring on the side of utility over form is the best approach. Refinement will follow once the basic information is captured.   Week 3 (back dated post...) 1. BOOKS Finished The Best of Fritz Leiber, which was an impressively kaleidoscopic display of creative ideas in short story form.   My main takeaway was of wildly varied tones packed close to each other. Currently walking my way through Mage Quest by C. Dale Brittain. Randomly grabbed the book from a used book store knowing nothing about it. In short, the book reinforced some of my general preferences for ttrpg play. The protagonist is absolutely not O.P.   A terrible, but spoiler free review. A barely competent wizard embarks on a quest with a mixed party to retrieve the macguffin. For the GM, DM, etc you see the progression of some characters as they grow their skills through a variety of encounters. I did enjoy the setting that was a reimagined medieval europe setting. Adventures take the party into the holy lands and beyond, giving a chance to view other cultures with different takes on magic anongst other things.   Pleasant fodder for rpg thoughts.   2. MOODBOARD WIP 3. MUSIC Constructed a several hour long pandora list. Skyrim, oblivion, morrowwind themes. Beethoven symphonies 3, 5, 7, and 9. Dvorak serenade for strings, symphonies 8 & 9. Grieg peer gynnt suite Ralph Vaughn Williams fantasias on greensleeves, theme by thomas tallis and the lark ascending. Holst the planets. Aquarium by Saint-Saens   That's a good start...   WEEK 4. 1. Community Actually ran a game! Told several players about the Worldember thing. 2. Plan writing schedule. WIP. 3. Getting out - well here in the US it was Thanksgiving time, so had not 1, but 2 family feasts.
