Bhaal's actions did not destroy the abomination but spread it through the infinite void. The rest of the gods were furious that now evidence of their imperfect nature would exist forever. The Gods banded together into a pantheon to punish Bhaal for his action. Bhaal was imprisoned within a large fraction of the original orb.
