Tournament

The Ruby Tournament, or Three Villages Tournament was created to hold a festive and competitive mood between each village of the region. It is held each year between summer and autumn when the weather gets more comfortable, to celebrate the end of the hard working season.   Anyone from the three villages can enter. Fighters have to apply a month before the tournament starts, but the most competitive ones already spend most of their spare time training.   The rewards for winning one, but also five tournaments tend to get the competitors motivated. A win is rewarded with a decent amount of money, and a keg of liquor from the Karnassians brewery, but five wins gets you a wooden statue in the arena's hall of fame.   Each match is a wrestling competition of three rounds. No weapons are allowed and to win, one of the two fighters have to hold their opponent on the ground for ten seconds.

Structure

The whole arena is made of wood. The central fighting pit is 10 meters large and filled with obstacles for fighters to get creative with. The pit is surrounded by benches for the spectators.   Around the arena are many bars and stalls rented by merchants to keep people hydrated and entertained.   Usually, people tend to camp in the forest around the arena instead of going back to their city each day. Faithful to themselves, Elyadesians throw massive parties each night after the fights.  

I think Ol' Gerto is going to Jiur's tent to provoke him again. He's mad that he won't get the chance to win his 5th tournament I think. Heh. I must say that's a pity.
