Kyráthea Soteria
Kyráthea is often described as being composed, observant, and emotionally intelligent by those who know her.
Growing up in one of the unique settlements of her people, Kyráthea grew up to be calm under pressure, and her family's statues made it possible for her to be trained in the role of palace envoy, giving her a quiet confidence that is rooted in her respect for her people's traditions but also knowing where its flaws are. As part of her occupation, Kyráthea has experienced several other cultures, which have made her curious about them, and especially those people who live far inland, she tends to find them strangely rigid in their ways, but fascinating anyway.
Believing that words, gestures, and timing are crucial, she is warm and full of good humor when among friends in private, and calm and well-spoken when performing her role as a palace envoy.
As part of her upbringing, she learned and studied diplomatic speech, poetry, and symbolic gift-giving. Kyráthea has yet to leave her home island, as her superiors still consider her to young to be taken seriously, despite her being one of the best envoys they have, but she has finally convinced them to give her a chance, with their only condition being that in her first mission she would act as the junior partner in the negotiations, at least on paper.
Like many of her people, Kyráthea can sense changes in the tide and pressure hours before forms hit. Although she has never been formally trained in her people's magic, she has read a few scrolls on the topic of tide-priests, but despite having an affinity for it, she has yet to put more time into it as she will much rather put time into the things she is good at than learning an entirely new set of skills, especially without a teacher to guide her.
