OC-tober 2025
I decided to take part in OC-tober this year, which means I tried to draw 31 pictures of my original characters.
There were different prompt lists flying around the internet, but since none of them resonated with me, I ended up making my own.
I came up with 31 light-hearted scenes that I wanted to draw of Ria's Pack. My goal was to familiarize myself with their expressions and personalities while practicing the fine art of posting imperfect art without shame.
I managed to draw a total of 12 scenes this year. One big side effect of looking at my characters every day was that it motivated me to work on the draft for the first novel instead. So yeah... I lost interest in the daily drawings after a third of the month, but I made good progress on my manuscript during the following weeks.
Regarding the "posting without fear" subtask, it was a clear success. I did just that and got a handful of positive responses to every one of them. Also, I managed to come up with a short dialogue for every scene. I hadn't planned that beforehand, but it emerged when I posted the drawings. So I did not only learn about my characters' body language but also about their voices.
The Result
Task failed successfully.
