Normally, Lex is the one responsible for cooking - after all, he is the local expert on fruit, vegetables, herbs, spices, and chemistry in general. Feng tried it in an attempt to figure out who she is and what she might be interested in. It remains to be seen if she gets discouraged by this attempt, or if she will stubbornly try to learn it.
